Journo on TalkSport tonight

Just caught the tail-end of an interview with a former NoTW football journalist on TalkSport on my way home in the car. I didn't hear his name which is annoying.

Anyway...he was speaking about Man City going after Fabregas. He said he'd raised this issue in a press conference with Mancini last year and was immediately shot down. Since then Mancini has apparantly said that if Cesc was available, he'd be interested.

The journo claimed that to this day it still 'hurts to the core' that his speculation/inside knowledge was swiftly dismissed.

He went on to say that this is the case with many transfers. A journo asks a question about a player, the manager denies it, then later shows an intrest.

Firstly, did anyone hear the interview?

Secondly, is he having a laugh? Does he seriously think that anyone with half a brain takes any notice of journos and their 'inside knowledge'?

I don't doubt that they have connections within clubs and they do often break stories before they are common knowledge. However this is overshadowed by the bucket load of complete guesses they print as if they were fact every day. In the last 5 years the NoTW printed 1697 football transfer rumours. 240 were correct.

No idea where i'm going with this article. Just thought it was laughable that a footy journo could be so upset about his work being rubbished...when the VAST majority they write is total tosh!
