Last season Skrtel was excellent but this season he has been very poor. A poor penalty to give away at WBA (may be soft) and few mistakes leading to other goals.
Defence is all about concentration. He has lost it. The same can be said about Reina. We don't have a replacement for Reina but I think he should be warned and Rodgers should play Jones or Gulacsi for a couple of PL games to send a strong message to Reina. Skrtel can be dropped though. Coates or even Carragher can do better job than him.

Reina =
That's all the expert analysis anyone needs.

I feel for Skrtel. This is not quite the system for him. He was a better option defending deep but he plays further forward now. He might adapt but I have a sneaky feeling he may be on his way. No reflection on his ability at all by the way.

I hope City come in for Skrtle! Pepe looks awful

Last season he was great, before that average. I think now the new system, where Agger shines even more, doesn't seem to fit Skrtel. We need a CB, DM, and a striker still...

Football is a funny old game at end of window we were all freaking about the attacking side of the team.. It turns out our defensive play is looking more of a concern

I don't think Jones is ready to step up either, he's prone to a howler, like our first against wba midweek.

Anymore of these antics by skrt's and reina, and i think brendan will be opening the door for them to walk through, after all, rodgers will be the one who has to foot the results and criticism, and mistakes, like this have cost us many points, today they got away with that, but if those two are not cutting it,then i think he's not scared to chop em!

Reina and Skrtel have cost us valuable points already this season.
Had today been against a team of higher quality we would have probably lost points

Players are allowed to have spells out of form guys, they are only human.
Reina, yeah ok, his has gone on too long, but dropping him won't do any good because we don't have class replacements. All we can keep doing it playing him and hope his form comes back.
If it doesn't, then a new GK will be a priority (and I sure BR will feel the same).
With Skrtel, he was excellent last season. He has earned a bit of time to sort his form out. Coates is coming on strong but don't write Skrts off just yet.
I am not convinced we need a centre back. When Carra retires (whenever that is), I would rather give Kelly/Wisdom/Sama a chance personally as I think they are all potentially capable.
I would rather if possible keep whatever transfer funds we have for the top end of the pitch because ultimately it is attacking options in the Premier League that win a lot of games. You need a good defence, but I think in the attack minded PL you need a great attack more.
