ran out of ideas.

I wasn't at the game but watching on tv it seems we run out of ideas in the final third and ended up playing it long a lot. We had nobody taking players on down the wing and very few shots on target.

When they have players behind the ball why don't we run at them? They aren't just gonna let us pass it! Anyone can pass it around the back 4 we need more drive and need to move the ball quicker than we are.

Playing it around the back gives them time to get players behind the ball!

Anyone else have a view on these aspects?

I noticed that you had Lansbury on the bench,is he not worth a starting place.

Wasn't fit enough to play all 90 - said the man himself in the program.

I agree that we need to run at defenders more, and a speedy winger would help. Patient passing across the back only works if there's an eventual end product.

Having said that, we did run at defenders in the first half, and they brought our players down. Only trouble was, a weak ref didn't punish them with yellow cards soon enough, and we mostly wasted the resulting free kicks.
