Evra's right too

Spot on evra

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra insists his team deserved to lose to Tottenham on Saturday.
The win was Spurs' first at Old Trafford in 23 years and came after being 2-0 up at the break courtesy of goals from Jan Vertonghen and Gareth Bale, with Evra bemoaning the United's performance in the first half.
United rallied in the second half, with Nani and Shinji Kagawa netting, but were left with too much to do as Clint Dempsey hit a third with Andre Villas-Boas' side claiming the points in a scintillating encounter.

"The result is what happens when you only play for 45 minutes," Evra told reporters.
"The game is 90 minutes long and we deserved to lose because we only played for 45. To concede three goals at Old Trafford is not good enough.
"The problem is in our heads. It looked like we stayed in the hotel. The first 45 minutes had no speed, no focus, we didn't win a lot of challenges and we conceded some silly goals.
"Maybe I am hard with myself and the team but we only showed the United face in the second half. This is not enough if we want to win the title."

Think what the like of 90s Keane/Ince would have been saying.

maybe, just maybe we played well. If we're gonna talk about only playing for 45 mins then the same criticism could be made of spurs, yet we still won. We could have played much better second half if we were cool on the ball and didn't keep lashing it back to Paul Scholes every 2 mins.

He's 100% spot on.

Surely if they'd stayed in the hotel, Spurs would have scored 2-300 in the first half?

Not with our strikers.

"Should have been a draw then."

Would have been.
Hence Fergie rightly complaining about injury time.

"by a lot of their logic you'd think that Spurs had nothing to do with the result"

All down to Chris Foy, that result.

Doubt it but Defoe might have been offside 2-300 times
