Ideal World

For BR in the summer i believe would be something like this.

Considering the players he clearly does not rate:

Jose Enrique £6m
Jay Spearing £1.5m
Joe Cole £0.5m
Stewart Downing £6m
Andy Carroll £17m

Total £31m

Now, i realise this isn't football manager but i would expect BR to get a reasonable £20m via the owners for his summer transfer kitty, add those who are rumoured to be exit bound and he could potentially be looking at £50m to spend (if the estimations above are about right).

I would be absolutely delighted if BR could get Sahin on a permanent £10-12m deal, simply because the lad is young (23), quality and buys into the total football ethic.

I really do think the young guns (as i call them) can save us a shed load:

Kelly, Wisdom, Sama, Coates, Robinson, Shelvey, Allen, Henderson, Suso, Sterling, Adorjan, Yesil, Borini are the one's i see having potentially bright futures, but importantly they are all under 23, with most, 8 out of 13 being under 21.

Just imagine BR spending money wisely and drilling this style of play into these young guns, we could be about to see a very successful period return to Anfield from two seasons time.

Hope i'm not jumping the gun

Phil.....CFC and City threw 100s of milions at the team, it took them a few yrs to win a title; 5yrs from where LFC are now its perfectly concievable we could be in CL finals and competing for titles.

Rafa managed it in 4yrs without the structure or youth the BR has right now....just think about that!

LFC played THREE teenagers Vs Norwich and a 17yr old Vs Utd, we have half the team under 24yrs old and there are players like Morgan, Adjordan, Sama and Coady nearly ready to come through. The style, size of the club and the most imortantly structure has not been as stable for decades....like it or not LFC are seriously moving forward.

Got_Better - whilst I love your optimism and find it inspiring, I fear it might invoke a different reaction from fans of other sides.

Although I don't agree with the OP's player sales valuations. I reckon Got Better is spot on. Its positive that these young kids are being thrown in together, they work together, they train together and they win together.

However unlike in the mid 90s, I cannot see a new version of the ''Spice Boys''. Brendan Rodgers is not the sort of person to tolerate something like that. Unless he gets hard work, he's not happy.

He seems to nip things in the bud early. Look at how he slammed Raheem Sterling for being cheeky. All Sterling said was ''Steady'' as much to say ''Chill out man''. However it didn't go down well, but look at the improvement in atitude afterwards.

Notice how he put Adam Morgan up really high. 'Look at this kid, he listens, he learns, he works hard'' ''Be more like him''.

We've finally got a structure in place. Young hungry players. I do believe that Nuri Sahin will be signed permanently. There could be others of a similar standard.

Here's a prediction. Sebastian Coates will make Phil Jones look like the over-priced English player that he is. Coates is going to be a world beater.

Coates is a good player, but Robinson will be awesome at left back

Reckon Coates could break into the first xi soon. Skrtel should watch out otherwise....
