Let's face it, on Sunday, we weren't great. A lot of that was down to how well derby executed their plan of giving us absolutely no space in midfield. It made us go over the top to dex. He did ok at holding it up. Then he got sent off.... Without the outlet ball upfront. We were scuppered.
We weren't awful. It isn't the end of the world. But we are now without a win in 4 games. Again... No need to start shouting from the rooftops just yet.
Games against our fiercest rivals are often scrappy affairs, tough to call. As billy always used to say - they quite often turn on a daft decision. Which the 26 year old referee duly supplied. Why they chose someone of such inexperience for a game of such magnitude baffles me?!?
But for me, the points dropped on a drizzly Tuesday night are the ones we need to be taking if we want to progress this season. These are the games that slip under the radar a little. A draw at palace .... Yeah but we're playing derby on Sunday grrrr.....
It's the 'smaller' games, that are going to decide our season, not games against our hacking neighbours.
In SOD we trust
Let's not lose sight .....,

You didn't have a LB for ten years, now you've got one you want a better one
A month ago, you had built a squad that was going to take the league, miraculous it was, such a turn around in fortunes. Now it's floundering slightly you want to get rid and get more loans in.
Just take a deep breath and relax. It will be OK. Don't expect promotion this year, just rebuild.

I've never said, and I quote Iwas, we'd "take the league"
Top 10 was my realistic expectations and I still think we will come good. Just because we have lost two games in a tough league does not mean we are going to be battling relegation
I think losing on Sunday will be a wake up call for the players. They will now realise that average teams can come here and beat us. if they have a game plan.
We have a tough game though against a promotion favourite next and then a bottom team.
What expectations should we have?
In my opinion 4 points from the two games would be good. 2 points would be the worst case acceptable, and 1 or none not acceptable.
If offered now, I'd take a draw against Blackburn and a win against Posh. 2 wins should be our aim before anyone starts

Stop getting into detailed results now, just look to an overall midtable finish while renewing in Jan and then again pre season. Some players fit in, some don't.

It's a crime SPREE I tells ya!!
Kidnappings in Wales, ex-squaddies killing their kids in Kent, and now someone with footballing insight has hacked Iwas's account

The sending off obviously changed that game... Derby were pants in the first half and Forest were dominating. As soon as we were down to ten men, the momentum was inevitably going to change... I am much more concerned that we couldn't find any end product again when we were the better side, than our poor display after Blackstock went.

DeLa,
You're confused mate. The shock of losing - again - I suppose. First half, Derby were NOT pants. They were typical visitors in a tight league who came with a plan to close you down. That's what good teams do. Forest just could not break them down.and yes, the sending off changed the game. But having seen the incident time and again, a red card was justified. Blackstock jerked his elbow back into Keough's face. No doubt about it.
This is where Forest let themselves down and SOD showed no tactical nous. He decided to wait and see what changes he should make and Derby took advantage of the window. If Forest had taken a leaf from Derby's books from last year they would have played all the harder and maybe even won the game. But they had no spirit for it. So Derby won again. Simple really.

In football
possesion is vanity
goals are sanity.
We battered them 0-1 won't get you three points however you slice it
