GEORGE BOATENG SIGNS FOR FOREST

Do you think this is true? It’s not on the official website but that said our website has been about 2 days behind most other football news websites.

Good addition? I’m concerned, maybe we should sign a left back before more midfielders....

Good back up. Good energetic player. Could be the Championship version of Ryan Giggs, that's negatively assuming we stay in the Championship.

McClaren has gone out and got these experienced players, and credit to him. Billy, as much as I loved him, talked and talked repeatedly about how young the squad is, and went out and bought in players like McGoldrick, Gunter etc.

Boateng, Greening and Hasselbaink, three very experienced voices, and voices younger players will want to listen to.

Ballsdeep yes I do have something to say. In my opinion both Boateng and Savage pretty similar players who rely more on their energy to get amongst players, I am not comparing them skillwise and in their day both very effective players.

However, Savage couldn't get around the pitch to any decent effect as his legs had gone, he was like a headless chicken at times and for the most part he was a passenger, just my opinion!

If you want to delude yourself that Boateng is at forest for anything other than a final pay day, go ahead. Out of interest how long a contract have they given him?

Csander, I agree on the legs but Savage played near enough every game.

Injury permitting (other players injuries that is) I can see him coming on as a sub when we're ahead and want to sit back occasionally, maybe starting the odd cup game when we need to rest players, as NFFC sporty points out we've not bought him to be energetic, he's an experienced player, we've got him on a free for his head and presence.

DM: Moussi + Boateng
Wingers: Anderson + Mclery
AM: McGugan + Majewski
CM: Greening + Cohen

Cohen can do a job as DM too.

Clearly I think he's a good bit of business but we'll see.

Contract: 1 year.

"If you want to delude yourself that Boateng is at forest for anything other than a final pay day, go ahead." I realise that you may have some raw nerves on that subject having had to watch Savage prance around for a couple of years but you saying that doesn't make it true.

I'm sure he'll be on a nice package and can't play every game but he's always struck me as a good honest pro who seems to always give his best. I could be wrong but am not saying that just with red-tinted specs on. I think just offering him a year is a wise move, he'll have to put the effort in to get another contract and we'll only lose a fraction of what you paid blondie if he doesn't.

Just because someone is in their mid 30's doesn't mean they can't still put in a shift. He might not be able to play every game but as has been stated, replacement for Moussi if injured or 2nd half sub, with his experience not only will he be useful on the pitch but he'll help our young players too.

Kev, it's the worst WUM ever. Their midfield has revolved around a bloke 2 years away from a zimmer frame and they mock us for signing an aging player!

Still no confirmation on OS either, so have we signed him or not??
