How do you guys reckon you'll get on next season??

The only stalling might be wages. This seems to be a problem for us at the mo. Players know we've got money, and seem to be asking for higher wages.

But if we can get him on around £30k a week, I'd be happy.

As for next season - I'm cautiously optimistic.

With the amount of signings we're making, and the money and quality, we have the potential to walk the league.

I don't think we will however - no-one ever really runs away with it in this league.

I think with the investment, anything less than automatic promotion would be a disappointment for the club as a whole.

As long as we go up though, I think we'll be fine.

With this squad and, we are told, three or four more to come, we really don't have much excuse for failing to make the top two.

We rarely do things the easy way, though, so I can see us all sitting there biting our nails throughout the play-offs.

You say that Fatfox, but with all these players coming in - especially ones joining now and in the future - There will be little gelling time for them before the season starts.

As i stated, i'm cautiously optimistic.

Getting so many signings to gel will not be easy, and i feel we may start slowly.

Which is why I believe the top two is still a tall-ish order – the squad that we are building on paper has yet to turn into a team on grass.

Carew was great for Villa under O'neill, but gradually suffered a number of back injuries and seems to play 2 or 3 games and then sits out the next 2 or 3, you should be aiming for a guy that is going to get you 20 goals (DJ Campbell, Maynard, Simon Cox?)
