In my opinion Ramsey is just as much of an enigma as Gervinho if not more. Goals like last night are brilliant, showed a bag of pace and a great finish, so why doesn't he do it more often? He's exactly like Gervinho, can have one game as a work beater and then less than a week later can become painfully wasteful. Something that actually worries me about him is not having a defined position. He doesn't tackle or track back enough to play as the defensive midfielder and doesn't assist or score enough to be our attacking midfielder, without mentioning you need immense consistency in both positions as you are relied on pretty much the whole game. This only leaves the box to box midfield role which in my opinion he can't play either, he just doesn't have enough influence on the game to warrant selection in this position. When Diaby plays there the commentator is mentioning his name every couple of seconds, same with Wilshere.
It's a real problem for Ramsey as he needs to define himself before he gets lost as a squad player and starts going backwards.
Ramsey the Enigma

When Ramsey plays as an offensive midfielder he is usually decent and at times he can be superb. Playing as a deeper he is not all that. Simple.

I personally think Ramsey can be a greta goal scoring midfielder for us. His confidence in front of goal was lacking for the past 9 months or so. However the brilliant run and finish against Southampton which was almost a goal for him (but for the bar), and yesterday's spectacular effort will give him tons of confidence in front of goal. He can be extremely productive making late runs into the box to score for us. He used to have a great shot from outside the box as well, which will hopefully come as his confidence rises

I think Ramsey should play in the position Ozil does for Madrid. That'll suit him. His got good vision and link up play to play there, and is a goal threat too. Only thing is that he lacks consistency. But playing there will sure help.
I was never convinced with him as a box to box or DM even before his injury to be honest.

I said before the season started that people are way to harsh on Ramsey and that he will come good. He has proved this in his cameo appearances so far this season. Please remember he is still very young and in my opinion him and Wiltshire are the future of the Arsenal midfield.

Great finish from Aaron last night.
Ramsey is not a creative player but he is a hard worker and useful when someone guides him.
