RIP Peter Taylor ... Died 22 years ago today,
One of Derby's greatest legends along with Brian Clough.
We'll never forget you mate, even if that lot down the A52 do!!
It shows by the statues, in our City you are in your rightful place
beside Brian Clough, but in Nottingham they decided to leave you
out. In my opinion you were just as important to our club as Brian was.

Not that there is any chance now, but it would have been interesting to talk about how much Forest fans thought Taylor contributed to their success. At Derby, I agree with Wassa, that Taylor was an equal partner - he spotted the players, he was unbelievably brilliant at seeing how a player could fit into a team, and Clough motivated. I may be wrong, but I thought there were similarities at Forest - who was it who had the inspired idea that Burns could be a centre-half - wan't that Taylor?

Probably because Clough was at Forest far, far longer than Taylor, and because of his personality, he is thought of in a different way, as being the main man of their success. I am sure Forest fans also feel immense gratitude to Taylor, but perhaps it was slightly different - perhaps by then Clough had matured and found his feet fully in a way he hadn't at Derby, when he still NEEDED a partner.

I don't think it's inappropriate for Forest to have a statue of Clough, and I think it is completely right that Derby have one of Clough and Taylor. It would be nice if Forest could honour Taylor's memory in some way also.

@ vidal

I agree. Taylor was instrumental in the early years when the team were winning trophies. After he left he had Ron Fenton as his right hand man. Although capable, he wasn't as good as Taylor.

As for honouring him. I would suggest the naming of the Robin Hood suite as that is the players lounge and he was the man who spotted the players responsible for our success.

Maybe we should tweet our owners and request some action

I didn't even know you could filter people. Can't see why you'd would filter someone. If you can't take a bit of banter or stick I don't know how you get through life.
