The 3 man defence will work it is just missing its final piece which is Micah Richards.If it makes Juventus go unbeaten in the 3rd best league(although I actually think the budesliga is the 3rd best) then it works.

Nascistic(sp),Kompany and Richards will make a very flexible and difficult back 3 to combat with Clichy and Zabaletta offering the width while Maicon and the awful Korolov offer an attacking threat in some games.

The world doesnt have enough natural and gifted wingers to offer a balanced team shape while ploughing the wing consistently.The game has evolved for godsake.You dont get a giggs or a ginola anymore.You need quick one 2 passing to pull defences out of shape just like Dortmund did to City but for that you need bodies in midfield.

We saw Alexis sanchez, absolutely gifted at Udinese battle to make breakthroughs at Barca.Only Bale would improve city as a winger, other wise what Mancini is proposing is the way forward.

Only Fergie has mastered the art of providing width with designated wingers and he has some decent ones at united who get the job done but even that type of play is being found out at the highest level.

Defenders just defend better.With Clichy and Zabaletta offering false width thus taking defeders attention it allows the likes of Tevez,Silva,Aguero,Nasri to destroy teams centrally with quick one twos.

Mario and Dzeko will offer the plan B when those 4 are out of form.
