SF,
I hoped that we weren't trading in debt, & don't think we are. But why doesn't Wray just write a cheque in that case? If he can't, then we are close to the line. My Bro. has difficulty getting money for his photos!
The last thing we need is financial incompetence, added to the same on the field.
No, whatever you think of DiC, his hands are tied whilst this is going on. And, it would be the same for a new regime.

I know this may sound crazy but perhaps there's such a thing as being over-resourced. If after a bad performance the attitude is 'well, I'll just go out and make some more signings/bring in a few loanees' it detracts from trying to build an effective team and undermines any continuity you might be hoping to achieve. It seems to me that the most successful teams have a solid core who are used to playing with, and also for, each other. I also feel that the best managers are those that achieve success (however defined, and it's a relative concept) with limited resources. For me the likes of Tony Pulis are mangers to admire, and look at what Ronnie Moore is currently achieving with a number of well-chosen free signings. Conversely look at the Bournemouth situation, loadsamoney spent and the manager gone after 10 league games.

Applying this to our situation I feel that if Canioman can't come up with a decent team with the size of the squad at his disposal it puts a question against management capability. Is that a fair comment?

I think that is VERY fair comment. To me, the board have been all to free and easy with him. Wilson was always strapped and his hands tied by Fitton, indeed Wilson got the players Fitton wanted and saw as ones for the future, and these included Caddis, Ferry and Flint.

Canioman says he isn't angry but spilt the beans in front of his Chairman making any statement so put pressure on Wray. Why not work harder with what you have, this constant revolving door of players coming and going has become farce. I dare say there will be a few managers in League One with a quiet smile when they read of this latest out burst, and I'll bet Evans in League Two is having a real chuckle.
Canioman, you need to realise we have a virtue in this country, its called PATIENCE, I suggest you learn it.

Only my opinion. But I think that the DiC is getting above himself. Swindon gave him his 1st chance in management, now he thinks that he rules the club. No gratitude from him, just carping about players, board & everyone else but himself.
If he went now, it wouldn't worry me.

I think you are right Red, and maybe Wray has been reigning him in by not paying up as quickly as he could and making him work with what he has. We obviously don't know all the ins and outs , but maybe there is dis quiet elsewhere on the board, and they have decided to pull his horns in a bit and toe the line. Some very interesting views in The Adver today. Surprisingly many are siding on the theme of, you have had so much backing and support, so now get on with it and stop whining. As I said, he needs to learn Patience..

Totally agree with you both...he needs to wise up!

I've just noticed that Aden Flint is in the League 1 Team of the Week...as was Simon Ferry for the previous week. Interesting that their performances are appreciated by many, if not by their Manager.

Couldn't resist that!

SF,
If you are right, then Wray is playing a dangerous game. DiC has become a fan's hero. But I know which one of them I would trust with the club.
I actually don't like this Italian mentality excuse. He is paid to do a job. Someone has to tell him to do it, & report to the boss. Like most of us in this world.

Red + Don,

For what it is worth, I think this has been bubbling away behind the scenes for a little while and then Canioman goes and asks for money for a loan player and Wray has said , NO. They had a small fall out or maybe less and after yet another lack lustre performance on Saturday Canioman decides to divert the attention from his under performers and aims the press at Wray with part of the story and then adds, maybe they will sack me, I don't know, so what is that ? a cross between tourettes and r@11ucks ? comes under the heading of Dark Politics in my book. You can certainly fall on your sword very easily when that game is played.
You expect that sort of behaviour from two sorts of people, a cry baby, or somebody stupid who mistakes themselves for someone clever. I'll let you make up your own mind on that.
Canioman may be a fans hero, but if Wray did hoof him out and gave sound explanation as to why, he, Wray, would receive massive support. Canioman has got a load of flack over this, and he doesn't look quite so clever as he thought he might.

DiC calls himself " a good manager" That might be so if the side was made up of robots.
What he isn't, is a good man manager. He has had far more resources than any I can remember, yet if anyone annoys him they are tossed out, only to have to find a replacement. A bit of sensible talking could have resolved those situations. Now, that bottomless pile of money has run out & he doesn't like that. Well, he has used it up.
