Just reading this morning about Newcastle being in talks with the money lenders Wonga about sponsoring both their shirts & St James Park.
Now I thought it was bad enough Mike Ashley re-naming an iconic stadium The Sports Direct Arena, however I think for it to be called something like The Wonga Park sounds not quite right in my eyes.
Newcastle fans, how do you guys feel about it the name possibly being changed again? Now I know to the vast majority of you are like me, it is St James Park & always will be...................................
Spurs fans, we are (hopefully) getting a new ground in a few years and this will be less of a problem for us as the new place will be just that, brand new, so naming rights (unless a really stupid name like The We Buy Any Car Stadium) should be less contentious going forward.
However, say for instance DL had set up a deal to change WHL's name, how would you feel about that?
I for one would be totally against it.................................
Stadium Naming Rights?

Double for York city's rebranding a few years ago, the yocals were not amused.
Bootham Crescent > KitKat Crescent
Thankfully it was a 5 year deal and reverted back a couple of years ago

If you were Blackpool, then Orange Kitcat Crescent could fly.

"You mean empty?"
I mean so dark you have no idea who is up there and what they are doing.

I'm not sure Ann Summers would sell much in there, though they're going to need 90 minutes of reading material to offset the boredom

The West Ham faithful can congregate in the Gimp-Mask Stand.

the deal is only for the shirt apparently if signed. It's hilariously bad if it ends up being the 'wonga arena' or the 'wonga dome' or whatever

No, I think the Stadium name is up for grabs too. Ashley only changed it to gauge reaction when some real sponsor comes along.
It counts as expenditure under the new Uefa FFP, whereas if an outside company sponsors its income!
