Rumour Mill: Coyle sacked, McCarthy In?

Apparently, there was a meeting at the Reebok today, and Owen Coyle has been told to clear his desk. Announcement tomorrow.

The man being bring in to sort our season, according to some...is no other than Mick McCarthy.

So...hypothetically of course...how do we view this situation?

Always liked McCarthy's no nonsense view of things..but, is he the tactician we need?

Coyle wasted 10mil on players either not good enough to get in the team or are pants when they do.

N'gog, Alonso & Sordell !!!

Sordell may be great but potential is different to reality. Alonso blows hot and cold. Some games he is good some not. He actually gave the worst performance I have seen by a full back at Fulham last season. Duff destroyed him (not a young Duff either) he spent most of the game on the floor.

"Debt rising to 110m, from 38m, due to his poor excessive signings"

Not quite that simple HH, and I think you know that. Mischievous is being kind.

If you think I'm being unfair then I respect your right to your opinion although I disagree with it but IMO McCarthy is a poor manager and his record is poor.

I agree that Owen should go but in all honesty we need a manager who is a winner and there has to be someone better out there than the same old names that have been sacked multiple times and whose names get dragged up by the media whenever any manager is under pressure.

It's a tired old bunch of names that get repeated every week and it seems as if no one thinks outside the box when it comes to this. I don't mean fans, I mean the media and 'pundits' who seem to have no imagination while boardrooms don't seem to look past anything but the ssn channel and the back pages of the tabloids.

LPP exciting would be di Canio or Solskjaer.

Gartside doesn't do exciting. He does "safe".

Coyle was exciting for about 9 months

Petrov I suggested Di Canio more than a week ago and was told by fans on this very forum that he was 'too risky' but I personally think he should be at least approached. As to solskjaer (whom I rate by the way) I feel he would not come here because he is probably already eyeing the Man Utd job (if and when SAF actually retires) for which Solskjaer would be a very popular and even (dare I say the dreaded "S" word?) safe (AAAARGH!!!! appointment) who the fans would be very patient with as ours (including myself) were with Owen.

I'd love to see Di Canio here though. He's got it all from tactical and strategic know how to a real fire in his belly that makes him a winner.

It'll never happen but it would be one heck of a ride if it did.
