Have just read on BBC website that referees and match delegates will be asked to report any sectarian shouts/chants that they hear at games next season in a bid to clamp down.
I have to ask if this is a wise move considering refs have enough trouble controlling matches or even getting decisions right.
Who will verify their accounts?
What are police and stewards supposed to do ?
This gets sillier by the day.
More work for Refs

I don't think sectarianism is as prevalent as is being made out.....
..I sit Gov.Rear and if anyone starts with Billy Boys etc they're left wanting for any group participation.
The underhand comments are still there- Rooney was called a FnB quite a lot by some fellow fans...but that will be impossible to root out.
I think we're spending a lot of time eradicating the visual side of sectarianism (songs of ill repute being sang by a large crowd) without dealing with the root of the problem.

Have referees not had that responsibility for a few years now and completly failed to do so?
Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen have all been heard singing sectarian songs and i don't think one referee has ever reported them
the only times that things have happened is when rangers have been caught out in europe.

Only if the referee declares what team he supports before the game!
Yes...it's getting sillier by the day....only in Scotland!
