Heather Watson and Laura Robson march on at Japan Open, both winning their second round matches.
Robson beat a lower ranked local girl but Watson came from a set down to beat a much higher ranked opponent, so both girls are home in on a top 50 berth, with Robson provisionally in number 50 spot right now.
Robson faces lower ranked Kai-Chen Chang in next round, whilst Watson will face Pauline Parmentier, quite a match up there.

Well done to both and here is a neat video of Laura Robson and Eugenie Bouchard (real canadian talent) letting her hair down...Gangnam style, introduced by Maria Sharapova, with guest appearances from Maria, Tsonga, Stosur, Ferdasco and Heather Watson!

Yes Jonty they are doing well as is Fleming/Hutchins in the doubles in Shanghai - Not forgetting Andy Murray as well.
Pity there wasn't more to shout about other Male players on the tour!

I remember LTA saying how they would get a certain number of male players into top 100 and Andy Murray was saying well where are these players cos he just didn't see them.
Pipeline of talent for women's game looks relatively healthy, but all we have on the men's side is potentially Liam Broady and he'll need all the support he can get from LTA to be able to compete at top level.
