Not sure if wee Ally was ever known for being able to handle himself,on or off the pitch.Lennon was a passionate wee midfielder,but is he what you would call,a hard man?Neither give me that impression.

Ally gets respect for being the clubs record goal scorer. But Rangers was as far as he went. He was the big man when Rangers were at their most powerful and Celtic were at their weakest. Lennon went toe to toe with the like of Roy keane and Patrick Vierra in their pomp and gave as good as he got. Then he came to Celtic and wrestled the title from the most expensive squad ever assembled in scottish football history, playing beside a striker who was by a country mile a far superior player to McCoist.

Ally was the better player by a country mile... Lennon was passionate and wore his heart on his sleeve, I'll give him that. However, abilitywise he was average at best. I'd put Lennon in the same bracket as Gavin Rae...
