I've never known a Boxer so remembered for his defeats or the manner of them!!......or had names like "Bully" or "Brawler" strapped to them like Mike Tyson..
1. Tyson was a very good Boxer......In his prime his side to side movement and perfectly timed jab were enough to dismantle bigger so-called better boxers before his power finished them off!!
2. Sure he became ordinary later but that was post-Rooney....Tyson was a different animal under him!!
3. He is a great Heavyweight like it or not!!
4. He brought millions of fans into Boxing and made Boxing a much bigger sport than it was a t the time....Boxing owes him a big debt of gratitude..
Sure he might have been a bully and some of his escapades inside and outside the ring were at times vile and loathsome..
But it's time to remember Boxing wise at least...there was a lot to admire about Tyson!!
Let's be honest Boxing would love another Tyson these days!!

He beat champions or ex champions in Thomas.....Tubbs.....Bruno......
and an unbeaten Olympian in Biggs......
Tubbs easily beat Bonecrusher as well as Page so for me it's better than Bonecrusher who was a journeyman..
He had a good record..though he is between 10-20 for me...
which is still great....

Spinks was a defining fight in fairness to Tyson.....
A guy rated no 1 by the Ring magazine.....
Lewis best wins came against fallen foes...
Ruddock - lost twice to Tyson
Holy - twice to Bowe
Tyson - twice to Holy..........
and his Vitali win was on cuts whilst behind on the HBO scorecard....with no rematch allowed..
Whilst Lewis is great it's often easy to forget such glaring facts..

Now who is obsessed?
It is a decent resume, too bad he didn't take the Holyfield fight and spent all his time mugging and smoking rather than train before Douglas.
I rank Vitali above Tyson.
He was very quick for a heavy, nice combos, excellent, body and head movement and a great chin.
Squared up a little to much for my liking and better fighter could have taking advantage of this.
beat a lot of his opponents before the first bell.
Would not intimidate elite fighters.

Personally I think an in his prime Wlad takes both Vitali and Tyson.
I think that he would, I agree that Tyson had quick movement, however I just feel that Wlads jab would catch him enough to get Tyson frustrated and for him to get sloppy. that and the fact that I believe that when people call Wlad "robotic" they confuse robotic with not quick, I think that speed wise he would hide behind that jab till Tyson made an error
I wouldn't put Tyson in the top ten, he would probably make my top twenty, however I don't really see him as anything other than a boxer who could have been the greatest but allowed his personal demons to consume him too much

Shame he took the wrong path and had Don King as his promotor otherwise he would have gone down as the greatest ever. He had an early prime and was an absoulete beast and animal when he started and he would of knocked anyone out and i mean anyone even ali would have got knocked out by him in his prime.
As for people calling him racist that's all a load of crap, the woman even admitted she lied and just said it for the £££££

Tyson couldn't KO Tucker, couldn't even put him down.
Pretty sure Ali is better than Tucker.
