Bottom Of the group . That's progress
A beaten team From the 1st Whistle.
No heart. No passion. Stood off. Weak tackles. $hit passing.
Good side Belgium. But we just let them dictate. Never did we pressurise them for the. Picked passes and crosses at will
This was Belgium. No Spain. Not Brazil. Not Argentina.
We are worse than the sum of our parts.
How the deck can anyone believe Latrine deserves to remain in the job? How can that performance and lack of anything resembling hope be a signal we can improve under him. We can't even string 2 passes together under him
He should have gone at the end of the last campaign
Never have we been out of a campaign so early
Shameful. We have no pride. Looked like a San Marino there tonight, where the goal looked inevitable. I can NEVER remember a ascotland team being so defeated and resigned to it do often
And it's not often you see such a one sided game. Even lower league teams have a wee spell. Bu we were gash. Not once did we attempt to compress the play and get up the park. Ffs their players play in the same league with the likes of Villa, Everyon, Spurs and Chelsea
And listening to that dirge commentating. Ffs Belgium will qualify but they ain't gonna win a tournament.
Disgraceful
Bye bye latrine

I think you'll find the one stars are because you constantly post childish articles with personal insults towards a man you don't even know.
You don't like him as a manager, fair enough, but FFS stop acting like a 5 year old with the childish insults.
That said he should probably walk but I agree with the above poster, we just don't have the players.
We shouldn't be last, but we are never qualifying with this lot, regardless of who inevitably takes over.

His record is abysmal at all levels. Achieved nothing
Players in that team that underperform were continually picked - substandard performance after sub standard performance. How the fekk can that be allowed? How can a team improve if your position is safe irrespective of performance or results ? What other teams would have such a philosophy of rewarding failure ?

How come small nations like Croatia and Belgium can produce the goods and we can't? We should do what France did in the early 90s. Forget this AND the next tournament and put a plan in place for the future incorporating Henry McLeish's proposals. Otherwise we'll be sitting in 20 years going through the exact same anguish.

We should at least throw in a couple of the u21's in the part few games to give them vital experience in international football
And who knows, some of them might really prosper or poor in a shift worthy of the badge

the likes of tony watt, lewis mcleod, dylan mcgeouch should be blooded into the first team for the remainder of the campaign. also forrest should be there starting games as well.
these guys are our future but should be given a taste of the big time whne there is little pressure on their shoulders as we are already oot

Not sure about that. Vogts did something similar and we just got battered and fell further down the rankings.
These guys are prospects but they are nowhere near ready to face Belgium, Croatia etc. Them getting battered by far superior sides will not do their development any good.
I think we need to look a generation further down the line. Until we start training kids correctly from 8/9 years old they will not be good enough even in their late teens/early twenties, by that time it's too late.
We need to stop standing back in awe at Belgium, Spain, France etc and say what did they do to get this good and bloody well do it ourselves.
Anyway rant over, this supporting Scotland depresses and enrages at the same time

i take the point about falling down the rankings but this would be a short term pain for potential long term gain. the tried and tested pros aren't doing it for us anyway so we will likely fall down the rankings in any event.
you are right we need to have a 10-15 yr plan but we can't neglect our current prospects either.

also i wasn't making the point that they should be the first names on the team sheet more that they should be given 20-30 min appearances. the fact they will be in the dressing room with some top pros like D. Fletcher will also have a great impact on them

Spot on Dave, Serbia and Macedonia did the same thing to a lesser extent, but whenever we're put under pressure we panic and hoof it.
As long as no hope no skill players like Caldwell are the first name on the teamsheet we're goosed.
2-0 was a tremendous result considering the pattern of last nights game, if it had been double figures it wouldn't have been unfair.
All the games so far (Wales apart) have done is show how far behind in terms of technique our players actually are.
The basic problem is retaining possession, apart from Darren Fletcher, no-one in the midfield can pick a decent pass or hold on to the ball. Morrison was misplacing simple balls out wide and spent half the night on his backside. Maloney seems to think silly 12 year old level step overs will beat Man City players and Commons, well, I've seen snails run faster.
You're right though our whole philosophy has to change. From top to bottom Scottish football has to shift to a European mentality where possession football and the skill required to play it is our focus. Stopping sticking 12 year olds on full size pitches and shout 'get intae them' from the side lines would be a start.
