How Much Longer

How much longer can it go on, it is all so predictable.

I have supported the club before WFC moved to Milton Keynes, since 1991.
And listening to todays game on Dons World, I must admit I feel about the most frustrated I have felt for a long time.

Congratulations to Stevenage today by the way, as they remind me a little of the " old " Wimbledon.

Firstly regarding Robinson, he talks the talk but I am wondering if infact he can walk the walk.

We cant score goals to save our lives, Lowe and McDonald both start on the bench again, with Smith up front again on his own, as they did against Preston, where we also drew a blank.
Over the last two games we have only created a handful of chances, yet this season we have had well over 100 corners and apparently only scored from two, our corner taking is pathetic.

Its been clear we need an out and out striker as none of ours are any good, yet once again McLoud scores two today for Pompey, a player who signed for them at the 11th hour as he was out of contract, and I think is on a moth to month deal.
To add insult to Injury Flannagan scores for the Gills, when he should be playing as one of our centre backs, after his exploits last season.
Williams could be playing in his preferred midfield role.

Once Stevenage scored it was the same old story, and it sounded as if the chance of an equaliser was unlikely as Stevenage put their bodies on the line, as infact many other teams have done agaist use in recent years.

We are fortunate to be just outside the playoffs.
We just dont have enough bottle.
We only have one plan and its pass pass pass with no end result.

If we want an automatic spot, we have to win six pointers like today, and against a similar side on Tuesday at Crawley, [ to which I am going as its about 30 miles from me ], to be honest I dont hold out much hope.

If we havent got the players with the drive and determination to succeed at this level we MUST buy some.

There are about 3 clubs looking for managers in Robinsons native North West, and I wouldnt be surprised if he jumps ship.
But to be honest I am 50/50 if that would be a good or a bad thing.

I have just looked at the BBC stats but as usual they are wrong and have us having no shots on target when even their text says we did.

I didn't think we were that made, but made too many mistakes, didn't have the luck and haven't got anyone who can score up front.

I hope we can get a striker on loan as we do need something fresh and a bit of luck as well.

When will Robinson learn that football is about scoring goals not keeping possession or really nice passing football.

To add insult to injury - Jabo scored again (he is their top scorer) and Colchester won the game with the lesser of possession they are now only 4 points behind MK Dons.

Just done a quick calculation that during October MK Dons have had posession between 55% & 64%, they have had the ball around 208 minutes and scored 3 goals.that works out roughly once ever 70 minutes.

Also another worrying statistics that they have taken just 2 points from the 18 possible from the teams currently in the top half of the league

Finally just seen Robinson say he may only be able to name 4 subs, yet the free scoring Jabo and Flannagan are still out on loan with Lowe looking to move too.
To be honest, I don't think anyone need worry about the vacant managers jobs in the North East, I don't think Robbo has a hope in hell of being interveiwed let alone get a job.

I saw the light today. Our slump is nothing to do with our strikers. How many clear cut chances did we actually create today? I can think of one, and that fell to Chadwick.

We cannot go on playing with two DMs. One of these days someone will have to advance with pace and purpose, make a defence splitting pass. One of these days our wingers will have to actually produce a pacey cross between the keeper and the defence (why oh why do they do that weird floaty cross to the back post or the edge of the box? Tbh it embarrasses me. I would be laughing if my 12 year old nephew crossed a ball like that). And finally, one of these days, we're gonna have to attack with more than 3 players!!!

We are so short of players its untrue.
We have players out on loan who we could do with.

Does anyone know if we can call back Flannagan and Ibhere or even Baldock from their loans ?.

Because if we can call them back and we dont its total madness.

I don't think we can recall them or we would have done it. That's the trouble with a small squad, you want to loan the younger players out to get them experienced, but a few injuries can leave you bare.

I cant see why we loaned Flannagan out in the first place as last season he never let us down, and was as good as any of our other central defenders.
We are now playing Williams at the back, and although he has done well there, he is an attacking midfielder, and we are missing that from him.
I dont rate Ibhere as a goalscorer, yet he has scored more goals for Colchester than he has for us, surely Robinson must ask himself why ?.

I think Robinson and Winkleman have gambled on having a small squad of good players, which appears to have backfired, this has been done to keep costs down.
Surely if you loan players out you must have a call back clause, as Spurs have done to us on a few occasions.

What concerns me is a team such as Stevenage can beat us and be near the top of the league, with no disrespect to them, with players I have never heard of.

As I said we have Crawley on Tuesday, and to be honest I cant see us getting anything there unless one of our strikers has a good day.
We will need to put Kaye in at centre back and put Williams into midfield for Gleeson.

In my opinion we should have one of the best teams in this division, we were 2nd favourites after all, but unless we can find the back of the net we wont even make the playoffs.

Flannegan and Baldock were sent out one loan when it seemed pretty clear there looked as if there was enough depth in the squad in their positions that they would hardly get a game - and I guess it helped keep the wages down. Same to an extent for Jabo, though I think he would have been off loaded at the transfer or at the end of the season in any case. The other two are coming back.

Yesterday their keeper made some great saves - but we still had more than enough chances to have taken the points (no matter what the bbc stats say).

If Lowe goes out on loan, am pretty sure its because another striker is coming in (unless Robo is doing a Brendan Rogers trick). But its crunch time and while I still believe (in the fairy tale ) am starting to get very anxious.
