Gareth Bale - that is simply not good

enough mate....

I will probably get slated for this article, but I am just telling it how it is. It was unacceptable that Bale did not play today. I said this earlier on and idiots like Hengy started calling me a

As far as i am concerned, your girlfriend going into labour (and thus the baby clearly not going to be born withing the next 24 hours considering it is the first child), is not a good excuse to miss the game.

he is a professional on huge money and today we needed him in a massive game. however instead of playing, he was probably just watching the game in hospital.

there are only three occasions where its acceptable to miss the game....

1. personal illness/injury
2. sudden/serious illness/injury to a family member
3. a bereavement of somebody close to you.

Now, any of you thinking that well in any other job then time off would be fine, may be correct (although unlikely, as an international business man flying across the world and doing deals, for example, would not be allowed such time off), but football is not like any other job, we know this.

we have paid Bale minimum 80k this week to do what exactly?

A pregnancy can be planned, thats the beauty of it.... so why not plan it for those big long 3 months off in the summer time?

Maybe its me,... after a few people started calling me a then i wondered am i in the wrong... but when i got to the ground and asked my friends, and overheard a couple of others equally as baffled, then i have realised that no, Bale should have been playing in that game today.... i mean he could have played and we could have flung him into a helicopter and he could have been with his gf withing an hour....

Anyway, thats my say and opinion, which i am entitled to, I guess i feel let down by our star man, who has been paid this week to do absolutely fack all for us, despite him and all around him being fit and healthy.

Now lets hope the baby arrives safely when it comes, and Bale can get back to doing his job. I cant help but feeling a bit let down, and i hope he makes it up to us next week

P.S. a couple of earlier comments have asked me if i have kids........ i dont have any....... so maybe when i do, then my opinion will change. however i am talking today on 20th october 2012, and that is my opinion as things currently stand

This Mrs wasn't on the scene at the time, the one that was dumped me for being too "demanding"

Am I imagining it or are we seeing a bit more of you on this board recently Grand?

A little bit more I work nights so normally have a look in the early hours but I have been off the last couple of days.

I normally get on the match threads if I am not at the game.

Lets face it somebody has to upset everybody and poor old chicken was doing it all on his own so I have stepped up to the plate

I've given Chicken some ribbing but, as I've told him, it's a football forum designed for people to post their own opinions on, I don't agree with him but it would be a bl00dy dull forum if we all agreed.

As far as I'm concerned the jury's still out on AVB, but for as long as he's in charge I'll back him. If he c<o>cks the job up I'm sure Levy will "encourage him to develop his skills elsewhere"

I did not want him but I am maybe not as obsessional about it as chicken is

The way I see it we are stuck with him for the time being but I can understand chickens frustration, a few months ago everybody on this board was slaughtering him and chelsea now all of a sudden he is a "great young coach".

I may upset most and I may have a very aggressive posting style but for everything thats said about me nobody can call me a hypocrite. If I hold an opinion in my eyes its for a damned good reason and I dont change it without a damned good reason.

Its like Adebayor, I have never particularly rated him and still dont. Lets be honest none of us believe Defoe can play the lone striker role (altho he done well today) but he is managing to keep Adebayor out of the side.

That to me speaks volumes about Adebayor and again IMO if we dont get top 4 this season it will be because we dont have good enough strikers

I don't think you'll find anyone on here who'll disagree with you on the striker thing, I can't work it out, it's been glaringly obvious that we're lacking a top quality striker and have been for ages. I can only put it down to either a lack of cash or the players we're targetting wont come without us having C/L, if it's the latter I guess it's catch 22.

He could of wheeled her on to the touchline before the match and she could have squeezed it out at half-time.

Medical staff are there, the father is there, 36,060 God-parents are there and Walker could have breast fed it straight away.

Bridge-Banter.

I think you're completely disregarding the 'elf 'n' safety implications of after-birth on the pitch

Any new manager would have been a risk. Chicken is symptomatic of fans who don't want change.

While understandable, when change is forced upon you you either go with it and look on the bright side or moan continuously till the point of distraction.

Like it or not AVB is our manager.

He's doing the job as well as can be expected.

I think it's time we get behind him, if it doesn't work blame Levy but ffs, give us fans that want to enjoy the game a chance to do just that.

Bales

I was surprised at the time when 'arry got the push although I suspect there was a lot behind the scenes that we don't know about. AVB is here and he's not doing too bad a job of it so far so get behind him and the team I say.
