Just Another Boring Next Manager Article

Cracking job today by Jimmy and his boys to turn around that score line and put 3 points on the board. It's all we ask of a manger in any game. However, I can't believe Phil Gartside will be resting on his laurels and banking on them delivering promotion back to the promised land (ugh!) unless we go on a winning streak for the next 3 or 4 games.

So, given the rather uninspiring list of managerial candidates connected with the club so far, and the way Gartside seems to be taking his sweet time over interviewing anyone, I got to thinking about who he could potentially be waiting to become available. The managers with the axe looming precariously over their heads. Here are a few names that, for the most part, we haven't been connected with but if results don't go for them in the next couple of weeks, we could reading about in the near future...

Premier League
Chris Hughton (Norwich) - good win against Arsenal today which may have bought him more time
Paul Lambert (Villa) - it's going to happen sooner rather than later
Nigel Adkins (Southampton) - you can't concede that many goals and realistically expect to stay in the job
Brian McDermott (Reading) - who?
Mark Hughes (QPR) - his recent backing by the board will be rescinded pretty soon - like tomorrow when they lose to Everton

Norwegian Premier League
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Molde) - never say never. 3 or 4 games to go to the end of their season and he will make like a tachyon to England

International
Giovanni Trapattoni (Republic Of Ireland) - another vote of confidence but if they lose their next friendly, mid-November, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the can

Alsoooo...

Championship
Steve Clark (Birmingham)
Dave Jones (Sheffield Wednesday)
Paul Jewel (Ipswich)
Darren Ferguson (Peterborough)

I know after today's result many will want 'Jimmy! Jimmy!' in permanently but is there anyone above that you would be happy with if it doesn't work out?

For me JP has three games to prove he is not the man to lead us.

I'd be happy with Lambert, Hughton or Ole.

The rest....meh.

Fergie is the weird one. Posh are struggling this season but they have sold players and not really replaced them. Also as someone said on another thread Fergie is an anomaly, he has only ever done well at Peterborough (admittedly only also been at Preston...)

I wouldn't want a manager that has been sacked by another Championship club.

had a conversation with nuns after the match.maybe best to keep jimmy as caretaker for now and maybe a couple of months down the line the right man might become available say if villa sacked lambert.

Think back all them years ago colin todd leaves and we are around were we are now phil brown former player steps in plays 6 wins 5 draws 1 one of the games we were 2 0 down at home to forest. We win 3 2 ever one and me said give it to him give phil the job. But out of the had comes BSA from notts county and the rest they say is history. Who's to say we can do that again

I can't say that any of the list mentioned thrill me with excitement.

I'm not saying there aren't some decent managers there but apart from Ole, none of them are ripping up trees. I would like to wait and see what Jimmy and his team can do for us. Gartside is said not to be in a hurry, perhaps he also wants to give them their chance.
