Performances

Lloris - Should be starting every game. 10x better than brad in every aspect. I'm sick of sticking up for brad yes he can make himself big and catch a ball. But his positioning and decision making would have Gomes in stitches at times.

Brad - Too old and is keeping a better GK on the bench which i can't see happening for much longer.

Walker - I don't think I have seen a better performance from him since the Bolton game that got called off at half time when Muamba had Cardiac Arrest. I mean Defensively and Attacking. His arrogance and ego are beginning to show on the pitch as i think he knows we don't really have a replacement for RB and hes getting England games. He needs to bring himself back and know he has a lot to learn and never mind smacking ball of Mata when it was just about out of play. He deserved what happened for the 4th goal.

Gallas - Old, but still a master of defence IMO. Yes he is frantic and careless at times but the amount of clearing headers and great tackles he has put in have been crucial in our games. I still think Dawson should remain on bench purely due to pace. I know we haven't adopted a high line.

Vertonghen - Best player by far in our team. I'm still amazed we got him. He has been immense in defence and attack and i can't see Benny getting back into side unless he gets a good run of games before Kaboul returns.

Caulker - Still at a learning curve. For someone who has spent a season learning how to pass his frequent aimless punts from defense have annoyed me greatly. He is looking a great player though already which is promising but not better than Kaboul, Gallas or Vertonghen yet?

Sandro - I really rate him but I think he gets lost sometimes and forgets he is a holding midfielder. He needs to be told that roaming forward is ok when we are holding a comfortable 2 goal lead but not when we are chasing a game and we need a strict defensive line.

Dembele - Probably our 2nd best player of season so far. Makes everything look so simple in defence and has a great attacking mind from his days as a striker. I feel he can really lead us to great things from the midfield area and he has already built a good partnership with Sandro.

Lennon - Looks back to his old self when he would run at players instead of taking them down the line. His confidence looks well and truly back. I also think that he has put in better performances than Bale the past year and i think that its due to less focus on him on the pitch. Unlike Bale he knows he is going to get a few sore ones running past players but still picks himself up and gets on with it.

Bale - I have mixed thoughts on him, One minute he is playing great and has flashes of brilliance and the next he just looks like he is so shot of confidence he would rather just pass it. I don't think he has progressed as well as many thought after the 2010-2011 season but he is still a great and dangerous player who i think has the potential to be great but seems less motivated in doing so. Another thing i really dislike about him is that as a winger you have to be prepared to make and take a tackle. Bale plops himself every time a defender prepares to lunge. You are going to get hurt but taking the risk is what makes a good winger great. Another thing i have noticed is that we would struggle more with Bale at LB than having Lennon at RB. He possesses no tackling ability.

Dempsey - Yesterdays performance proved it to me, Dempsey needs to hit a fitness program and find his footballing brain. He lost the ball numerous times, Mispassed it, Lost every header and just looked outta his depth both at LM and CF. I rated Sig above him from the beginning and still don't understand why he starts. He admitted his goal run last season was one in a lifetime chance.

Siggy - A player i cannot rate highly enough. Don't know if too many picked up on this but his work rate is amazing. He closes ball down at every opportunity. He has a great touch and pass. His vision and awareness is great and he is versatile, can play CF, LM, CAM. Good free kicks. I don't understand why Dempsey started over him at all this season. I also don't understand why he gets so much abuse on here. especially from yesterdays game. He may have had better shooting had he started more games.

Defoe - He will get you a goal almost every game, hard worker. He is a little greedy at times in front of goal. The myth that he can't hold up a ball is infuriating. For his height he is great at it and a lot of defenders start backing of him as he has great feet to beat them and create space.

Adebayor - Was good for us last season apart from his shooting accuracy. A great player to play the ball off and create chances from. I still think he should be picked over Defoe until we increase our striking options. I think he brings more to game than Defoe and also think Defoe makes a better impact sub.

Exceeded 5000 characters. Had to take out naughton and starting 11.

On the first goal..............I wont moan at Brad for not stopping the shot as it was pretty rapid and it did take a deflection but I will say that he should have not allowed Gallas to concede the corner as it was easily close enough for him to catch it............I've said it many times but Brad simply does not command his area and allows too many chances which could have been avoided

Chicken don't be so utterly ridiculous

Alienating a player because he is not playing? So every manager in the world must alienate at least ten players from his squad who don't get regular minutes

========================

How is it ridiculous? Its 100% true. AVB did the same with Alex at Chelsea & it cost them big time.

Our CB's have been at fault for the majority of goals this season (& we can also include Walker in a few), but he still sticks with an aging Gallas & a rookie, in Caulker.

I find it quite "utterly ridiculous" that you cant even see it.

I dont recall Tom Carroll ever being a regular starter, in the Premiership or for Spurs. Or that he has stats to prove he is one of the better players in the squad in his position.

Can you enlighten me on this?

Can he really be blamed for the first goal considering the speed at which the ball was coming at him and the slight deflection?

Gallas and Caulker(or was It Vertonghen?) was part to blame for not marking Cahill adequately.

2nd goal was another Gallas mistake, but how did Mata's shot not get blocked with 2 or 3 players coming at him to try to block It.
Not sure why Mata was left that much space on the end of the pen box in the first place.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

To be fair a defenders job is supposed to be stopping their opponents not bailing out aging centre defenders who cant make a decent clearance.

The first goal in particular, any coach or even a rookie manager knows the instructions to a defender heading the ball clear. High, far and wide is the term used but what did Gallas do ? Well we all know he headed it to the worst possible place a defender could have done, right into the middle of the penalty area.

That was cut and dried his fault as much as the Mata goal was that Gallas cleared to the edge of the area.

Sorry but Gallas was dreadful on Saturday (not for the first time) and is simply no longer good enough for a team that has aspirations of getting into the top 4, full stop.
