Just got back from Crawley, just a 45 minute drive for me.
And yet again there was no difference to our last two outings, now its 3 games without a goal.
I predicted we would turn it round tonight and win 3-0.
The thing was Crawley were not very good, average at best, yet we wouldnt have scored if we had played all night.
We are now down to 10th, and on paper I still think we have one of the best squads in the division.
We have Harford and Wright as coaches, yet our strikers are clueless.
The McDonald that played in the first 45 minutes might as well have been Ronald McDonald, and the Lowe who came on at half time was probably Arthur Lowe from Dads Army.
Robinson has to turn this around soon as we wont even make the playoffs at this rate, he is beginning to look like a one trick pony.
He cant keep making excuses.
Tonight we had plenty of possession yet no cutting edge, with strikers with zero confidence, when Crawley came forward they were much more direct, and did what we did in two passes not twenty passes.
I have stuck up for Robbo but this is now a crisis, we MUST get a striker in or preferably two, and if it means spending money we have to do it, as we cant afford to stagnate in this division.
I am wondering if we need a change.
Is It Time Up For Robbo

I agree with ALL the comments made, we had 63% of the play last night, that in ordinary terms would mean a hat full of goals. We scored 0 as usual. We are in danger of becoming MK0 and not MK Dons.
Our style of play is good to watch but VERY VERY frustrating, the fans are NOT helping by shouting SHOOT SHOOT as soon as they get in the opositions half.
It's now got to the stage that not only have the players lost confidence but the fans have as well.
Be VERY VERY careful Robinson the calls for your head are starting.

I was partly joking when I wrote the article.
However I am now becoming less concerned if Robbo decides he wants to leave us
I thought he could be linked with a couple of vacencies in the North West, but that looks unlikely.
It has been clear for a few months we havent got a goal scorer, yet we havent done anything to bring one in, however we have let one go out on loan, perhaps Robbo picked this tip up from Liverpool.
We bring Balanta in but he isnt a striker.
It is clear that unless you score goals you cant pick up 3 points, we need 3 points from our games now as we are 10 pts off top spot and 8 behind Crawley, who are at best a Conference side.
How can a team getting crowds of 3,000 be pushing for promotion to the Championship.
Ok they may have backers like Bournemouth, but I cant understand why we cant get another backer, because its clear Winkie hasnt got any money.
Winkleman MUST pay out for a striker if we want automatic promotion, because the longer we stay in this league the more damaging for us as a club it will become.
Last year Rhodes basically got Huddersfield promoted on his own, with his goals alone.
People are saying dont panic, but how can you not panic when we have Lowe, McDonald and Smith up front.

Ps some of the chances spurned last night would have been better falling to Ian Wright even at his age.

Isn't they anyone in the Academy who might be worth a punt, what has Robinson got to lose by trying them.
If there isn't anyone, why the hell bring Wrighty in - who has he got to teach. If there isn't anyone else, put him on he must be better than what is there at the moment.

Title, in a word: No.
In explanation: If he fails to get us promoted, potentially. Has(Had) he done anything? No, but I'm fully behind him.
I went last night and it was just...poor. I disagree with whoever said "They're nothing more than a conference side." They're hear for a reason because they've spent well and been successful, no matter how small you are, it matters not if you're good enough and I don't think of Crawley as a non League side, simply a side whon are good enough to take us on.
I was wrong, mind as they were there for the taking. But we can't 'take'.
People keep saying we need a striker, yes we do but where are we going to get a goal scoring striker on loan, and even if we did what's the point? When his loan runs out, or he gets recalled it'd be a pointless affair and we'd have to start shuffling again and it'd be same old story. So what we need untill the transfer window opens is someone like Balanta who can create more chances. Create oppertunities to score, as he's a creative player who can also score. I'd rather that than a player who may score 6 goals in 2 months and then get recalled when we're relying on him.
Fernando Torres wouldn't score for us because he'd have no chances created for him.
The thing that's concerned me most is team spirit. Something tells me since JG left the players don't fully trust Robbo.

The problem seems to be that Robbo relies to much on entertaining football and not concentrating on scoring goals.
What is Ray Hartford doing? If he has come in as JG's replacement he has completely failed and should be shown the door.
What is Alex Rae doing? If he can't find a young Striker from any of the Youth squads, L2 or Blue Square then he should go too.
Without half a dozen strikers to bring up, there is no point in Ian Wright being there either.
So thats 3 salaries that can go, and then Robbo could afford to go for a decent striker - but has he even looked at one under 25 seriously.
Danny Kedwell was on the subs bench last night, Robbo could always ask young Flanagen to chat to him, if he is surplus to Gillinghams requirements
I don't think it is time for Robbo to go, but he does need to do something and quick

I don't know who is doing what (Harford says they bang them in at training) but I hope the people above take a good look at themselves and if they feel they aren't making a contribution they ought to resign.
After all they have made enough money and MK Dons is not a gravy train.

No. Those who think its time up for KR, I say be careful what you wish for... OK, things aren't going well, but there's absolutely no guarantee of success with another manager either given the finances.
Shouldn't we stick with him and not call for his head after one bad run and some bad luck - which all teams get from time to time? He has stuck with us, despite apparent interest from other bigger clubs.

True, but Robbo needs to show a willingness to try something different, MK Dons ar much much too predictable.
Even if he tried just for a couple of games to play te long ball, just so the opposition didn't know what to expect.
For me his big failing was lat year, when MK Dons were hammering Brentford 3-0 then in the second half Brentford tried a different tactic and went long ball and got a 3-3 draw, instead of him acknowledging the change of tactics worked, he was quite disparaging. He needs to learn (and quickly) that results get you promoted not fancy football.

I for one am NOT calling for Robinsons head. I would prefer to keep him but get rid of some of the back room staff.
We have lost some VERY good youth team players and I believe that some of the younger players should be made more use of. Just because you are only 15 or 16 does not mean you cann't play.
Come on Robo give the lads a chance, you could have a little gem in there somewere.
