Forest and Pompey in for Leacock

What do we think Rams? Speculation or not?

Would anyone be bothered if he went to Forest? We seem to be doing alot of business with Forest over the last few years.

Also with Shakell currently injured and Barker to miss the start of the season, should we not hang on to him especially as he can also provide average at best right back cover for Brayford

Lloyd, have you been reading the same article as me? "Everybody" is not slagging Leacock off at all. Opinion is mixed as it is amongst my friends and family who watch Derby.

On a general point though it is one of the football fans most unappealing traits - slagging off a player just because he has the audacity to move to another club.

I personally have always liked Leacock but Mr Clough in his wisdom doesn't rate him and we have just signed an expensive centre back so it is probably for the best that he moves on. I would prefer that it wasn't to Forest but he of course has to look after his own interests.

Who is this expensive CB that you speak of?

Shackell. Expensive enough for us to be pretty much automatic first choice. But then I think you knew that.

Just listening to the friendly and Anderson looks like he may have picked up an injury another CB out! so looks like we may end up needing Leacock to stay at this rate

Just Riggot as our only fit centre back then....oh wait, he's not been fit since Schteve Mclaren bought him for Boro in 2003

Leacock has the ability but lacks consistency and stability, would not rely on him to hold our defence together. In his defence, I don't think savage helped him at all, running around like a headless chook getting in the way and causing confusion.
Best for him and for us if he goes asap, and we all move on for the better.
