Bradford City Away Support

City supporters are hoping that promotion can be achieved this season and we finally leave the 4th division. However many clubs are happy to see the Bantam fans at their ground. Over half the crowd at Accrington and Rochdale were away supporters.

Next Tuesday 5,000 City followers will be at the Wigan cup tie.

As the Burton match is the 2nd of 4 consecutive away games the Brewers shouldn't expect a bumper attendance.

Nahki Wells' suspension will break up the effective striker partnership with James Hanson and could see a recall for Alan Connell or Phil Parkinson may select the pacey Zavon Hines.

From what I have seen of Bradford this season their attacking options impressed me; the pace and trickery of Wells and Reid with the presence of Hanson is a decent combination.

In the Cup game once you pressured us we had completely lost our shape and was clinically taken apart, probably the best attacking display I have ever seen from a team in this division.

Looking forward to the game should be yet another toe-to-toe encounter but fingers crossed we will get the extra goal to win it!

Thought we were very unlucky against Bradford in the Cup. Out played them for large periods of the game, but they pinched it in the end with their attacking flair.

Wells is out, so that must be a Brewers bonus!

Think there wil be a big crowd for this one and can see Bradford bringing 1k+

So as I wasn't at the match what was the away support and was Bell a panto villain?

Greetings, Edinburgh Bantam

Away support was noisy and passionate throughout, a little partisan perhaps - every block by a Burton player greeted by shouts of 'handball', every tackle booed as if we were a team of leg-biters, and every free kick in your favour cheered as if it was the first - but nothing wrong in that, we can all get a bit of rose tinted vision on a match day.

Personally, I thought there was enough to justify the red, though was embarrassed at Bell falling over. There was a flailing elbow (Doyle) and a high challenge (McCardle) in the last ten minutes that were in many ways more deserving of dismissal but I'm all for keeping 22 on the pitch if at all possible. Makes a much fairer contest.

Losing both of your big defenders was a blow. Hope they are not out for long and best wishes for the rest of the season (20th April 2013 excepted!)

Eyup EB, looking like the man at the helm on this forum. Now I've logged back on for 1st time since registering I'll try contribute. Got to be better than fending off idiots 'you know where'.

The report from the Burton fan hasn't noted that prior to the red card they 'mullered' us. Wave after wave beaten back and we rarely got out of our half. The red disrupted the flow and possibly helped our 'backs to the wall' approach. A point would have been a robbery but welcome, ultimately it was our lapse of concentration and joint culpability of GT and JM which cost us.

A note on the Stanton issue. I didn't see him do anything wrong and apart from allwing himself to be wound up seemed to be half enjoying the back and forth of it. Maybe a little ill thought out celebration after the whistle but after the cup game and the stoic battle this ended up as he was chuffed.
