Can anyone explain the point of filtering?
Personally, I think it's a good idea in principle. Unfortunately, I think it gets misused though.
If I filtered someone, I'd use it to forget about that poster and hopefully to debating football, without annoying other users.
If seems that some people - one in particular - in fact, sod it, MT, misuse this whole site. I hardly ever see him debate football. I mostly see him trying to be clever, joking around with other users and constantly trying to get one over on users in here.
I think his games are childish. For a 39 year old to seemingly try to create a team of followers on here really is the lowest of the low. If you get your kicks from getting more followers on twitter, having secretive conversations with twitter users about us posters and generally playing playground games with people, then I really feel sorry for you - and your offspring. I wonde in my future youth work whether I'll be dealing with MT junior.
I believe posters on here should remain anonymous. It's a football for talking about football, for christs sake, but I think that the poor moderation and unfortunately poor calibre of posters on here means that it just becomes a slanging contest in a quest for Internet stardom.
It's a shame. Some posters on here are very good and generally stay away from immature games and getting one over on each other. I have respect for you, people like HH, Bricks and Peter. But for every person I respect on here, there are others, and one mostly , that I don't.
You'll see. Eventually he'll leave me the hell alone and go after someone else, with someone on twitter in tow, rather like Teabag off Prison Break...

TRR - I filtered two users for the first time earlier in the season. It prevented me from seeing any of their posts and comments, which seems odd as I was the one who filtered. I now realise the people who are filtered can still see the comments and articles of the person who has filtered them.
Seems the wrong way round tbh
I know this because one of the two I filtered has now filtered me. While it will make this site a lot more enjoyable for me, it does all seem a pretty pointless function.
P.s. I got filtered because another user had a go at him after he had a go at me. Brilliant eh!!!!!!

hi CEF, raking up an old article here mate.
I don't think the filtering is the wrong way round personally. If user A has a beef with user B, user A filters user B, then why should user B be penalised over what content they can see? They can't respond to any of user A's articles, but it would be a childish filtering system IMO if someone said "I don't like you, so now, you don't get to read any of my comments". I'd hate it if they changed it so it was like that.

Hi LH - you have to admit it's a cracking thread- some of the early comments are hilarious, particularly now we know what we do about RB
I think the bit you explained is correct and fair. I was thinking it should be the same for both User A and User B.
The way it is now, User A is penalised more than User B. that is what I think is wrong.
Lets put it this way, I am in a better position now than when I did the filtering, so I am happy

I'm pretty sure that your last sentence is a material breach of paragraph 127 of the Communications Act 2003
