Why Does Wenger Always Sub Podolski?

Podolski.
It seems gooners are leaving him out of their teams and whatnot after his last few quiet games.

People are under the impression, that if he doesn't score goals, he adds very little to the team.
A belief which is totally false.

Yes, they are right when they say he's been a bit off it.

But Watch him carefully. He is always part of the play, making the right decisions and the right pass.
It's just that he doesn't split the defence with his passes. Solid player.

Either way, am I the only who gets irritated with Wenger when he takes him off?
He leaves the likes of Ramsey on when they're doing nothing.
Fact is, along with Walcott, Podolski is the only other player who is always a threat.

He has a knack of disappearing in games. If you can't see this you're blind Dubbed.

I don't even know why we play him wide left and Gervinho in the middle, Podolski's best years including last year are through the middle, same as Arshavin

Yes. He goes quiet throughout games. Which player doesn't though?

When he gets the ball he does something constructive with it. And he is always a threat, with his movement and finishing.

He is carrying an ankle injury. This is pretty well known. If anything the question should be why is Wenger playing a half fit Podolski when he has options like Walcott and Arshavin?

Podolski is so far a definite plus for the club at the moment. His link up play is outstanding, whether he puts one in the net or not. The incompetence/bad performances of others are meaning that Podolski's contributions are ignored alot of the time. Without a doubt, sort out the midfield (ie remove Ramsey) and Podolski will shine.

I have always assumed he was subbed due to some sort of fitness issue. He doesn't play more than 70 mins. If it isn't that then not a clue why because he does make things happen.

He is carrying an injury.

Bad excuse sorry to say that.

Podolski is not a player who "makes things happen". That's because he is not good at beating defenders one on one. His strengths are his shot, his speed, his strength and his passing. He needs an Oezil playing beside him who provide passes for him to run on to and shoot, and plays the one-twos with him.

How can you say that a forward who regularly tracks back and recovers the ball to launch attacks AND often plays a key pass, doesn't make anything happen?

There IS more than one way to "Make things happen," on a football pitch ya know. Fabregas isn't particularly good at beating defenders one on one but I do seem to remember him making an awful lot happen in the Arsenal attack.

The same pass and move one-two you're on about is what makes him valuable to us. THAT IS Arsenal football since AW.

I know what you mean. He's not an attacking mid, or a winger, really.
Gooners are so used to seeing Hleb, Nasri, etc. Guys who can dribble and lay somebody off.

I still think Podolski is being wasted out wide.

I agree of what Dubbed said, he is not appreciated.
Anyway, he was really subpar in the past several games no matter he was injured or not. He did not contribute enough, but not making careless mistakes like some did.
I think most of us here know Poldi is a forward/striker, not a left midfield or left wing. We all know his strengths and weaknesses. Now the situation for him is not good because Wenger insists to play him as a left wing, very similar when he plays left midfield for Germany. Phillip Lahm and Santos never go far wide and cross the ball out, but like to shift in and force Podolski to stay at far left. The place he could not contribute anything.
