First off i'll start with the positives.
1) the crowd, another magnificent show of support, no where near full obviously, i would guess 25-30k were in attendance.
2) Hegarty, shunted about from centre back to rb and then back again, performed well, was our only defender who wanted to make a tackle. one blip on his card where played a dodgy back pass but considering he had to cope with a bombscare in cribari playing next to him i thought he did well.
3) McLeod, this lad could be a player. showed composure in a midfield that black and hutton were missing. only one of our players who looked interested in playing football.
Negatives
1) The tactics. it was a bit all over the place last night. constantly overloaded on our left flank as shiels cut inside. we didn't press ICT high enough up the pitch allowing them to run through our midfield. the long ball towards jig was another shocker although this was due to ICT pressing us high and the fact we had little or no movement in the midfield.
2) Cribari
3) The attitude, when the second goal went in i watched alot of heads go down, despite jig's efforts to rally the troops it didn't happen and we still had 30 mins to play ffs!
4) McCoists ability to change a game. now i have reserved criticising mccoist but last night, yet again we see his reluctance/ inability to be able to influence a game either tactically or through subs. towards the end of the game wallace was crocked and little was blowing through his hoop yet we finished the game making only 2 subs
all in all a pretty poor performance and it really isn't good enough

Totally agree with everything except he had made the 3 subs by the time wallace and little were struggling, brought on the greek guy at halftime then kyle and mackay later.

Under McCoist this season I've seen us play well once- against Motherwell. The rest of the time has been dire, lack of creativity, simple tactics.
He is culpable in the extreme I'm afraid, as are his signings. He signed dross like Cribari when it was clear we needed a British experienced centre half. Imagine how bad Cribari will be when the snow arrives.
We have a budget and squad being paid more, and on paper better, than the likes of ICT. No way should we be losing at home to a a side like that by 3 goals! The excuses are running out.

What about the reaction to Butcher at the end? Was that a positive or a negative? Maybe you'd be better with him as manager!

I've tried to support Ally, love the guy to bits, but he's not a manager.
This isn't good enough. Just getting promoted is not good enough. The third division should be a walk in the park. We have a chance to bring in youngsters who can learn to play against weaker opposition, while establishing a good playing style. Ally seems determined to stick with 'lob it to the big guy up front'.
While I've no doubt he will probably get us promoted it will paper over the cracks of what have been completely abysmal performances.
I could accept going out to ICT, they are a premier team and playing quite well this year but to play poorly in the main and lose by 3 at home is unacceptable no matter who the opposition is.
I think Ally has to go. He can't solve the most basic problems we have. IMO we need a Kenny Shiels type manager. Someone who is not afraid to play decent football first and foremost and who is not there to play to the crowd. We are playing into 3rd div teams' hands with long ball, target man football. They will eat us up in a physical battle. We need to play these guys off the park with slick passing and one touch football. It won't be perfect at first with poor pitches and a lot of kids in the side but I'd rather we scraped promotion trying to play the game properly than scraped promotion with the displays we're currently putting on.
I mentioned Kenny Sheils, who obviously isn't available but that's the type of guy we need. I think Jimmy Calderwood would be a good shout as well though.

Mate of mine who does the electrics at MP says Jim Moffat is back in the frame for a big role. The Mighty Moffaticus as we used to call him at Forfar, aka Tin Jim, aka the Man with the Tan. Green has been after him from the beginning, maybe as First Team Coach, apparently. We certainly need a big name with track record and cutting edge tactics. What do you think?
