First, they have genuine case against bad refereeing.
Then they accuse the ref of racism.
Now the fans are caught making monkey gesture.
Their genuine case is forgotten as they destroy themselves. They have backtracked on the racism call, so all they managed to was take attention away from their genuine case!
I know several Chelsea fans, btw, and none of them are like this.
Are Chelsea self-destructing off the field?

this is a sheite original post to be honest.
who cares about some in bred who wants to make racist comments and insults.
its one absolute feckin mug in a crowd of thousands, who on a whole were pretty well behaved
to suggest otherwise as in the OP is pretty stupid.
sadly you'll always get one or two idiots, and at least the mug has been caught on camera.
hopefully the club will name, shame and ban him.

They have backtracked on the racism call,
No they have not.

I believe they have backtracked. The link you posted states that the ref is charged with "Inappropriate language". We were initially led to believe that he would be charged with "racial abuse".
We await confirmation of what is meant by "Inappropriate language" as this is such a broad term. 90% of what footballers say on the pitch is "inappropriate language".
On the face of it, that would seem to be a lesser charge than racial abuse.

Second sentence.
The Blues allege the referee used an offensive racial term in their 3-2 defeat by Manchester United on Sunday.

VC, I saw that sentence but the charge itself has no mention of the word race or racial in it. Why? We were initially told that the ref was guilty of racial abuse but the charge he faces does not mention race at all.
To my mind that is backtracking. If Chelsea have a solid case for racial abuse then why is the ref not being charged with that?

Has he been charged yet?

What an absoulete clown and hope the moron gets banned for life, apologies to the united fans that this moron is even associated with our club.
Don't see what these racist 's get out of making gestures like this, hope the club quickly identifies him and he gets a life ban and locked up.
Once again the spotlight gets taken away from a great game of attacking football that was action packed with a lot of goals.

Some neanderthals just don't understand the word "banter" hence why they are happy to abuse.
There were some great songs last night and good banter with banners etc.
To Sturridge: "Are you Torres in disguise"
To Nani: "You're just a shiiite Michael Jackson"
"Chelsea - Standing up to racism since Sunday"
Brilliant! If we go too far, fans will be afraid to use any kind of word that could be deemed abusive even if it is said in genuine banter!

I don't think he has been charged by the FA but he has been charged by Chelsea (i.e. they have submitted their report) and my understanding is that the charge is for "inappropriate language" used.
Interestingly, the accusation regarding Mata has been dropped due to "lack of evidence". It was also due to "lack of evidence" that Terry was acquitted in a court of law.
So, according to Chelsea fans, that must mean that the ref has been "found innocent" of abusing Mata.
After all, they are fond of saying that Terry was "found innocent" in a court of law.

Difference is the evidence required in a court of law is far more than by the FA. A witness statement is suffice in a court of law (Ashley Cole) but not really with the FA. So maybe only one player heard it or made it up and there is nobody to back them?
