I will start by saying I understand Robins reasons to leave AFC.He rightly realised the real lack of ambition at the club and how unlikely we ever were to win titles however I believe he could have waited one more year like Cesc did and gave himself the best deal and possibly the better deal for Arsenal.
Some might say we got 24 million for a 28 year old but one more year with the Arsenal and him leaving for Barca or Real madrid will have suited both parties.Im shocked Barca never bid for Robin, maybe his wages was a concern but he is the one striker I feel Barca need at the moment. The right technique and movement to play around Messi and more clinical than most strikers in world football except Falcao(I honestly think the columbian is better).
Coming to yesterdays game Im surprised nobody has touched on his horror tackle on Sagna, a man who has broken his leg twice in 12 months. That was quite insensitive and in character with Robin. He is uniteds problem but at times his nasty streak does take over.
He is a wonderful footballer though, funny how united fans see that now.
As for Tommy V, I see Arseblog suggests he be dropped.I was actually disappointed by his lack of drive and leadership rather than mistakes, it was only really one mistake but he is certainly down in the dumps but I think a move to left back while Gibbs is out could be an option.
Like Per who is now easily our best CB good players need patience and his form will come back.
Vermalean's form and van Persie's tackle!

Rooney did a good job marking Arteta, followed him around all game.

Ruiney, every time he's tackled i'm watching through squinted eyes to see if he gets up ok.

Same, he keeps holding his ankle just to WUM us.

Thing is Arteta's game has always been too slow for this league especially now as he gets older. He needs time on the ball, just like Lampard hence needs a Makelele or a destroyer next to him.As poor as Song was he at least had Mikels back, now Jack or Diaby will have to do the same.
Rooney did a good job on him though.

Fair play to Rooney then. I didn't think he was great yesterday, but if he kept Arteta quiet then credit to him.

The Arsenal fans who keep saying RVP isn't clinical are either really bitter or simply clueless. It still amuses me that we had a vocal brigade claiming Giroud and Podolski would be better for us. Pathetic jokers really.

Shut up Sheriff Brown. Most gooners criticised RVP for not being clinical when he was playing for us, long before a move to united was even imaginable.
Idiot.

It's true. Van Persie always seems to miss easier chances than the ones he scores. Always been like that.

Amazing footballer but he is not clinical, he even showed this yesterday despite effortlessly running rings around us.

RVP despite missing some chances is still the most clinical striker in the league.
