No Vidic this year

With Vidic being ruled out until Christmas there is a very high chance we will not see him again until at least January I fear we will never really see our captain again. He is 31, hasn't really played much football in the last year and has the likes of Evans and Smalling chasing his position, would it be a good time to sell him?

Now I love Vidic and laughed at people earlier in the season who said he should be sold but looking at the situation now it seems like there has never been a better time to sell him.

If he was to stay at the club I don't think he could ever return to the Vidic of old, and I think seeing him go a couple of months without some sort of injury is unlikely. Plus if caughtoffside.com is to be believed ( ) we are making a January bid for Sergio Ramos anyway

But Thiago isn't injured or over 30. We will be lucky to get £15m, especially if he was to leave in Jan. If he comes back and stays injury free until Summer I recon we could get £20m+ but I don't think that is going to happen

Yes I know Thiago is not over 30 or injured but he was not worth what PSG paid for him.

If Vidic stays fit and clear of injury and a club is interested in him, there's no reason why we couldn't get a decent price for him because he could have a good few seasons left in him.

hummels would be great

There is a real shortage of top centre backs. If one was to become available I think Barca would quickly snap them up

Sell up. We're a club that knows all to well that injury plagued players are too high a risk.

I love vidic, but I'm certain we can get great money for him and replace him potentially with one of the Dortmund CBS.

If Smalling can stay fit then we have great options.

PSG would probably still offer us 30 million for Berbatov and he's not even our player anymore.

vidic is king.

He was pretty damn shocking for the few games he was back for and with yet another long (ish) term injury to contend with, I fear we wont see the best of Vidic...ever, certainly not this season anyways

Maybe the logical thing to do is the unthinkable and sell him in the summer while he is still regarded as one of the best CB s in the world?

We have Evans who is becoming a very reliable CB, SMalling who I feel is a class act, Jones who has the potential to be great plus RIo can still be decent back up for a couple mroe seasons.

Vidic will return and score some crucial goals from RVP corners
