DOWNING OR YOUNG????

Player for player, it looks like Utd got the better deal.

However, it's not just about the player alone is it. It's about how they fit the requirements of your squad and what they can bring to your team when called upon.

Maybe Downing will prove to be the more influential over the course of the season.

Im happy we got Downing and, in my totally unbiased view, think he is the better player.

As a neutral, i'd say Young was by far the better deal. Dowing is not a £20m player.

Carroll isnt worth £35m
Rooney isnt worth £30m
Bebe and his cardboard box certainly isnt worth £8m.

Downing may be more 1 dimensional or a 1 trick pony but its effective and can only benefit the liverpool squad.

The guy makes sense

As a neutral I would say that over all Young is the better individual player and has more potential, however i think that downing is a much better team player and will prove to be the better deal...it is exactly what liverpool needed after the signing of Carroll, downing is going to get a lot of assists for him.

I genuinely don't knwo really.

I genuinely think Young is more suited to Utd's style of play and Downing to ours.

However, I'd have liked both because we do lack a bit of pace.

Why does he get more assists than Downing then and why does he have the most assists in the league over the past 6 years behind Fabregas.

Both are average premier league performers with Young marginally better.

A young downing seems to be the best option imo.
