There has been quite a bit of talk on various forums about our lack of centre backs. Dougie has tried to bring in a few unsuccessfully and is still trying to sign a few. Personally I am happy with his approach - he only wants to bring in players on a permanent basis who fit his requirements. He has not been able to sign them yet but he will get there eventually and will get somebody on loan until we do. People also forget Marrow makes a good centre half although I would rather see him in midfield and also david wright can cover. Don't get me wrong, I would rather we signed a couple of good centres but I would rather work with what we have and some loans than buy the wrong players. Are you happy or would you rather Dougie and CPFC pushed the boat out and signed the likes of Gardener and Gould with the potential financial problems that may bring.

We won't push the boat out Wegie bud.
I think we'll be extremely lucky if we get a decent loan signing but more than likely a mediocre (no offence) permanent player. Hopefully those lining up on the day will gel. Failing that, we score more than the opposition

In all honest after watching the game against Wycome I was more worried about our lack of a player who could find the net!!
Our defence at times look a little wanting but at least they played with a passion not to be beaten but I really think that (like last year) we need a person who will score on more occasions than he will miss. A willingness to run and run is not enough if there is no end product.
I also believe we desperately need a midfield "general" who will dictate play & have the abilility to hold up play by keeping the ball for more than 2 seconds.
I went to Wycombe hoping to see an improved Palace side, I left feeling that this coming season could be similar to the last two!!

to be honest if you look at the team at the team i was moaning about last season and compare it to the squad now, i think it's gotten an awful lot stronger in nearly every position apart from CB.
In the first have of the season Dorman and Garvan were our two main CM and now they don't look like they're going to be anywhere near our first team. Up front we have Iverson, Murray, Easter, Scannel's fit and players like sekajaa and Zaha are improving. Our squad is too good for a relegation fight

Worried would be putting it mildly,still we are Palace and we are used to being up against it,expect us to do the unexpected in the first few games...an away win or two will do !
