Raheem Sterling

For a 17 year old dont you think he's doing too much? i know hes got the ability to play at this moment but if he continues to start 95% of all premier league games he's going to tire and burn out.
perhaps restricting him to a super sub for now will be benificail for his development and for liverpool football club.
thoughts?

I do think he is playing too many and would like to see Assiadi take some of the work loads.

Wrote this article a while back on it.

90 minutes each week isn't going to harm him as long as training is adapted so there is sufficient recovery time.

Glad he hasn't travelled to Russia, we are out of the CC and we will hopefully get some more heads in in Jan.

The amount medical science has progressed even since the days of Owen busting through etc is immense. These boys will be so closely watched and they will be aware of the limits. Of course injuries can occur at the best of times due to luck.

This.

Didn't Jack Wilshere agree to pull out of an England under 21 squad or something because Wenger's coaches showed him analytical data confirming that he wasn't covering nearly as much ground as he had been earlier on in the season?

He would play more games if he was playing in the youth team. He should be able to play 2 games a week at 17. I played 4 times a week when i was 17.

I dare say T-bone that you weren't covering as much ground at the same pace against the same quality/strength/size of opposition. I'm also guessing you were never a pro footballer. Maybe over exertion had something to with it :p

Is this true T Bone? If so did they encourage hoofing and rugby tackling at youth level, or do they reserve that for the 1st team?

I agree he's doing too much. England, Liverpool, U21s, three games a week sometimes for a young kid is heavy.

Has he signed a new contract yet? I seem to remember he was planning on buggering off if he didn't start playing 1st team football? If he hasn't, I'd keep him playing if he's happy.
