Liverpool battled to earn a good point at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea on Sunday night.

The Reds started the game better than their opponents, but Chelsea grew into the game and ended up on top. The first goal came on 20 minutes after Chelsea won a corner kick shortly after a touch from referee Howard Webb gave them possession. From the corner, which was delivered by Juan Mata, John Terry ran in to head into the top right corner following some poor defending.

Chelsea looked the better team from here on, although their momentum was disrupted when captain and goalscorer Terry had to be stretchered off. Ramires had pushed Luis Suarez in the back, and the Uruguayan fell into Terry's leg, seemingly bending it sideways at the knee under his weight.

Mata had a good chance to double the Blues' lead deep into first half injury time but sent his shot over the bar.

But Chelsea came out in the second half looking strong still, but could not take their chances to finish off Liverpool. Goalkeeper Brad Jones made a good save to deny former Kop hero Fernando Torres a goal as his misery against his former club continues.

On the hour mark, Brendan Rodgers brought on Suso, and this seemed to spark Liverpool back into life as they suddenly looked threatening once again.

With 17 minutes to go, Chelsea were forced to pay for their missed chances as Liverpool equalised. A corner kick was swung in by Suso and Jamie Carragher got his head on it to flick it on for Suarez to head in from close range.

Having forced the equaliser, Liverpool then looked the more likely to go on and get the winner. Later on Suarez found himself one-on-one with Petr Cech, but the Chelsea goalkeeper did well to come out and cannon the ball off Suarez to win a goal kick.

Deep into injury time, man of the match Jose Enrique had a low driven shot well saved by Cech, and nothing came from the resulting corner. The match ended, fairly, as a draw.

Enrique was a driving force today along with Carra, we need experience to compliment the younger players

Bad first half- wrong formation. Better second half. Sahin was a passenger and we looked better with Suso. Decent result in the end.

I wish moaning supporters would at least wait until the end of a game before moaning. You can judge a game better after 90 minutes than you can after 20. Far too many moaners on this thread.

Carra was excellent today. Listen to Brendan nicely.

Sahin still adapting to the Premiership. Suso and Sterling are babes who need support from some more experienced players.
