Right then now the draw has been done let’s get on with the group previews, hope you enjoy.

Group A

RVPM

Team: Colorado Rapids

Odds: 6 - 1

Previous tournament performances: N/A

If he was a Star Wars character he would be: Jabba the Hut – Once told me he was a bit on the large side

After being tipped to be a dark horse in the last tournament RVPM unfortunately had to pull out, but this time he is back and determined not to pull out again (will see). Looking at the group he can easily progress from this and will probably be in competition with Tyke for the top spot, having said that I can’t see him doing much once it comes to knock-outs.

Verdict: Quarter-finals


Tyke

Team: Colombus Crew

Odds: 5 - 1

Previous Tournament Performances: Final, semi-final, group stages, group stages

If he was a Star Wars character he would be: Jango Fett – Will do well to start with, but eventually will lose my head

After two disappointing group exits I am looking to secure my passage though the group stages this time and have been handed a group of which to do so. As said before RVPM will provide a stern test and Ludy can be a handful when he plays his best, should also not discount newcomers 1manontherun and voom, though I should beat them with my experience, group winner.

Verdict: Semi-finals


Ludy

Team: Montreal Impact

Odds: 9 - 1

If he was a Star Wars character he would be: R-2 D-2 – Everybody likes him, but he doesn’t do much.

Poor old Ludy was desperate to make an impact last tournament, but the pressure of having a good team and a favourable group resulted in yet another group stage exit. Well this time he has neither of them, could that have a reverse effect? Probably not. He can easily beat RVPM and Tyke on his day, but I don’t think he will do either, might snatch a draw, will probably teach 1manontherun and Voom a footballing lesson though.

Team: Portland

Odds: 16 – 1

If he was a Star Wars character he would be: Hans Solo – Cos he is always on the run, obviously.

So our first glamorous newcomer of the tournaments having been persuaded to ditch PES and buy Fifa he is now ready to do battle with the big boys on the better game. As for his chances, doubt he will do much in this group and will be a contest between him and Voom to avoid bottom spot. With a bit more experience he can learn from this tournament and start to do better.

Team: Chvias USA

Odds: 12 – 1

If he was a Star Wars character he would be: That woman who gets assassinated at start of Clone Wars

On to the next newcomer and I have barely any clue about this guy apart from he is new to 606 and he is looking forward to the tournament, seems worried about getting destroyed in the tournament which suggests he is not one of the better Fifa players. However we’ve had plenty of newcomers do well in tournaments before, but not this time for Voom.

Verdict: Group-stages
