Hi everyone, I am an Arsenal fan and I am new to this forum but I have read a few articles just generally browsing around. I notice there are fans who want Arsene Wenger to stay and fans who want him to go. I just want to offer my opinion and understand what the fans who want Arsene Wenger to stay honestly expect to happen in the next few years.
For the fans who want him to stay, realistically how long do you want him to stay for and do you honestly see him being able to challenge for the title within the next 3 years? There has to be change at some point even Ferguson has to go at some point so for Arsenal why is now a bad time for change?
I think it’s important to realise that the manager is not bigger than the club, if fans honestly believe that the club will be better without him, why are they labelled a plastic? Both groups of fans want success for Arsenal. It’s not like Arsene Wenger has achieved a lot of success for the last 7 years.
And for the fans who say, who will replace him with the limited budget? Well what makes you think there is a limited budget , we hear about our war chest every summer and the board make it clear there IS resources available and yet we actually make a profit every time. If this is a lie then this is a completely different issue and will only be proved if Wenger finally leaves. The board aren’t stupid, if they hire a new manager and give him no funds then he will fail and Arsenal will lose revenue surely that’s not in their interest?
We still hold a high reputation and feel we could still attract a top manager, but I worry that if we continue how we are and end up falling out of the top 4 a couple of seasons we will not be able to attract the calibre of manager we can now
I just feel Wenger has had enough time to prove that he is able to achieve success again or even to improve our side each year. I want to be clear I think that he should stay till the end of the season but it’s clear he is unable to improve the squad and get the best out of the players so is this not the best time to change something that is inevitable?
Stick or Twist?

why will wenger make the choice to not spend all this money. how can you believe that really. we cannot be better than everyone with 10m players. man city pays more of that on squad players.

Why did we sell Patrick Vieira so Fabregas could play? and then we sold Fabregas anyway.

I think that Arsene Wenger enjoys the challenge and lack of pressure which comes from not making a net spend every summer. The board probably are tight with money but only because the manager is happy to go along with it.

It's seems on a daily basis I am seeing more and more evidence that the human race is regressing intellectually. How many times must it go through your thick skull. We DO NOT have the money to compete with Chelsea city and united in the transfer market. Wenger was desperate for Hazard, this is a known fact. But we simply couldn't afford him and compete. He was keen on Mata but again he couldn't compete.
Internalise this so that you dont make stupid articles again: Wenger has performed miracles for many years. We have no right to be consistently in top 4. Look at our expenditure. He unearths gems that cost no more than 15 mill on a YEARLY basis. Who else does this? If wenger was given a war chest we would dominate the league. If we get rid of Wenger than it is almost certain we would fall into mid table Liverpool esque obscurity. Even Pep would not be able to perform consistent top 4 finishes with the budget wenger has.

Godfather you say something about my intellect but fail to see that your argument makes no sense. Even if we can't quite match Man citys spending over the last 5 years we are BOTTOM of the net spend on transfers in the premier league with a profit of £45million just on transfers.. I believe that with Wenger we don't need to match city's spending to compete with them but at least match Everton's net spend

And before you talk about wages , the money is there just the policy is wrong. If we stopped rewarding unproven youngsters with huge salaries then we can pay our top players wages they deserve.

The system makes sense. Pay talented youngsters above the odds and promise them first team football; this leads to us being their first choice and us having future world class players. The flaw in this plan that Wenger did not forsee was the emergence of sugar daddies with unlimited funds who would a) tempt our young players to move for cash when they matured into world class players and b) these sugar daddy teams winning all the trophies and leagues and therefore meaning players want to leave us for trophies.
Think about it, if city and Chelsea had no money then we would have probably got players like aguero and hazard at prices not inflated due to these teams spending. With these teams not being around we would have won so much more. Who apart from united would have been able to challenge us? No managers since wenger have won the league without spending millions and millions
