The seven time European Cup Winners are in a sorry state at the moment.
The weekend's 3-1 defeat to Fiorentina at a San Siro which was 42,000 shy of capacity means that Milan are now 13th place in Serie A and are already a massive 17 points off leaders and defending Champions, Juventus.
Of course they sold their two best players, but it's a heavy fall from grace for one of Europe's biggest clubs and in football it ain't always a matter of going back to normal in the next season.
They'll struggle even to claim a European place and that will be a devastating blow to their finances again.
It's probably indicative of the state of Italian Football in general.

Smid
We tried to keep up with our far wealthier neighbours....FAIL.
We could have a decent, entertaining league in Scotland, but we insist on buying mediocre foreign players rather than actually investing PROPERLY in our youth structure.
Even at primary level wannabe Mourinhos are taking the fun out of the game.
Get rid of these little Adolfs, supply proper coaches who know how to put the fun into the game and we will reap the rewards as we produce youths who have developed their technical skills through desire rather than through rote.

The Champions League is a misnomer. I you are from one of the TV rich countries you can finish fourth in the League and still qualify.
Football is money and not about football anymore.
I hope it all goes t*ts up to be honest.

But the SPL is at a cross-roads.
Sweden has a very competitive and entertaining league, there have been seven different winners in seven different seasons, yet how many of them make it to the 'Champions League'?
Celtic won 4-0 on aggregate against the best team in Sweden who had the advantage of being half-way through their season.
Would Celtic and Rangers fans forfeit the realistic chance of 'Champions League' football for a four-horse race, or would they rather just beat their neighbours every season and have a crack at the group stages?
I know what I'd rather.

I totally agree.
A competitive league would not resolve the issues.
Hibs are top of the league, after battling relegation last season, yet their attendance against Dundee United was shocking!

They've got to cut the number of teams, not increase it.
I mean collectively, not in terms of the league sizes.
We should cut it to 32 clubs.
Create a regional conference: where is the logic in getting Berwick and Elgin to play each other four times a season?
Peterhead's players allegedly train separately, i.e half of them are from Southern Scotland and train there!
More regional games.
More ground-sharing to cut ridiculous costs.
Two tiers of 16- one home game, one away game vs each team.
30 Games a season allows Winter shut-down for fans.
