Watching Bentley over in South Africa I wonder if the lad has a future at the Lane. He has looked bright with some great touches and technique. Also his work rate has been good. I like the fact he comes in off the touchline to get involved more too. He came to us with everyone singing his praises about his crossing which has been weak to be honest but he still has it in his artillery he wouldn't have forgotten how to do it!!
The big question is his desire and ability to mix it when things get tough. He is billy big boots for sure but maybe being relegated last season with the brums has given him a wake up call.
We need to have Aaron Lennon pushed to keep him on his fast little toes and I for one think Bentley could show his much publicised promise.
Thoughts?
By the way Cher Lloyds new "song" is the worst noise I have ever heard.

he has the fight for a place and forget his own hype.

Since he came to the lane, its as though him & Lennon have swapped feet for their crossing. Lennon's crossing has actually been very good over the last few seasons, although his reputation for not being able to cross for buttons has stuck, whilst Bentley has suddenly got 50p feet.
I read a stat that Downing's crossing success rate was 22%, whilst Azza's was top with 30%.
As for Cher Lloyd, i wish she'd crawl under a rock to be honest.

A good squad player but I can't see him as a first team player for a team wanting to be in the top 4.

I think Bentley peaked at Blackburn and that is his level of club he should be playing for, sell him.

He was average at Blackburn one reasonable season does not a footballer make.
Over rated, over hyped and over priced.
Pederson was supposedly a great player and so was Santa Cruz.
The media hype them up to being something they are not.
Combine his average ability with a dreadful attitude and what you get is a waste of space.

David Bentley is a classic example of what is wrong with the modern day footballer. A guy who was very fortunate to get given a second chance to prove himself by Harry, yet responded by getting boozed up and then wrapping his car round a lamp post.
A guy was offered a chance by Birmingham to get games under his belt and get his career back on track, yet stormed out when he was dropped down to sub for one game.
Yeah, let's turn our club into a charity and 'give him one more chance to go at it'.

gotta agree with spurcat there.
2 ways of looking at a loan for a player.
1.right,i'll get games now,a chance to get me head down and show the gaffer at my parent club that i can work hard and do the business for him.
2.stroll in with an attitude of 'yeah,i'm better than all of you,so need to bother even less here than i did at my parent club,i'll still get in,and if i don't,i'm off.
i'll leave you lot to decide which category bentley fits into.
