ffs change the speed of the courts

Finally Fed has started to speak his mind.
He wants stringent drug testing and faster courts. are we going to see any changes soon? One takes out Fed and whole 2012 will seem like a drab.

Roger is smug, Mex. Many people believe this to be the case.

By the way, why would you want to see the courts sped up?

so we dont have to see boring tactical tennis from the likes of nadal, how is roger smug? for arguably the greatest sportsman that has ever lived id say he is remarkably humble

Because he appears as very patronizing, arrogant, moody and very different when losing as opposed to winning. The day he had '15' emblazoned on his white tracksuit was embarrassing. I don't like him and find him smug. Many may disagree and that is fine.

I also wouldn't call having a good defence 'boring'. I enjoy watching long rallies and watching players push themselves to the limit. Obviously, Federer has been a genius but he's a bit of an anomaly. The tennis played at the moment I find really good to watch. Do you want to see the likes of Isner and Raonic win tournaments? I know I don't.

well when the courts were faster 6 or 7 years ago, the likes of karlovic wernt winning tournaments were they?

Good point. The rest of his game being so horrific probably had something to do with it. Even still, breaking his serve on a fast court is very hard to do.

you'd still need a great all round game to win if the courts were a touch faster, roddick won tournaments years ago not just because of his serve but also because he was a great all round player, not one of the all time greats, but still one of the best in the world at the time, whereas the likes of karlovic et al only had a serve and failed

Much rather the courts stay as they are. Serve should be a shot to start the rally, not to end it before it begins. No Isners, Karlovics and Raonics please, that is not what tennis should be about. Not for me anyway.

About time really. Slower courts have led to moonballers like Nadal and Murray to continue in this vain of Attrition tennis.

How many S and Volley players in the ilk of Edberg or even Henman are about these days? Big Zero.

The likes of Mahut are challenger standard.

Err join the real world Cognoscente eh? The quickest surface left in slam tennis is in New York - now I wonder who won the US Open. Oh yes Andy Murray so evidently he is at home on quicker courts. This is backed up by the fact that he is weakest on the slowest surface - clay which Roger isn't bad on.
