Just briefly had a look on the BBS and for the second night in succession some folks are going over the top regarding 'Hassellgate', lol.
I've always been a fan of Bobby but I couldn't possibly say whether he should be playing or not, even though I do watch training. Only the staff who are working with him would know that.
Funny how Bobby must still be able to do it, but Marlon is over the Hill, (yes I know).
People are entitled to their opinion but some of what is being said is not rational, and unfortunately serves only to sow dissent when it's togetherness we need.
I'm very suspicious of the motives of some of our so-called fans, the 'I was right all along' gang, and there are the perennialy depressed, of course, but;
Be careful what you wish for!
Rather Hysterical!

hassel for me should be playing at full back he always gives 100% and encourages other players which for me seems to be lacking at the moment this is only my oppinion

Must admit I was surprised to hear in Hill's interview that he regards Bobby now only as a defensive midfield player.
I don't think that's his best position and I think he'll struggle to break into the team in m/f. Can only see him getting games by going out on loan which I think will be the beginning of the end.

Bobby Hassell is 32 years old and what's more we have never quite got a full season out of him since our return to the championship. His and Foster's appearances are very close in number and yet Bobby has been with us for two seasons longer. He struggles with injury.
For this reason we can't expect him to play all the time, but we know he is there and he can step up when we need him. This is one reason he isn't a regular.
The reason is that we play with attacking full backs, Stones and Golbourne bomb forward with pace and attacking intent, and whilst Bobby is decent enough at going forward he is hardly the attacking full back we are utilising at the moment.
Indecently though, he had an excellent game in DM against Bristol (despite being sent off), however he is down the pecking order after Perkins and Cranie, the latter being excellent so far this season.
Personally though I would rather see Bobby there than Perkins.

Agree with your comments about attacking fullbacks...
HOWEVER...
A fullback's primary role is to DEFEND, something which Stones in particular seems to forget regularly. We've concede more goals from wide crosses than anywhere else.
Hassell may be getting on a bit in terms of fitness, but he's Mr Reliable, and Stones / Goldbourne have been skinned more times this season than Bobby has in his entire career...

Goulborne and Stones are told to go forward, it's all part of the plan, whether or not it is a good plan is still open to dispute.
Regardless, Cranie and Hassell work well in this position because they drop back into the Full back position when Stones and Golbourne are attacking and we need to defend. Perkins does not do this which needs addressing.
