Alty 0 - Brewers 2

A win, but not convincing at all imho. Defence was excellent again and it was good to see McCrory back, although after a good start he did fade and tended to hang back. Midfield was led by my MOTM Palmer who seemed to be everywhere, but he had to be as we actually played 5 at the back with Bell dropping in front of the back 4. This still didn't stop Alty find huge gaps at time, but we coped.

Calv was a pain all night, although I've got to say I cannot remember a game where he lost so much possession, didn't hold the ball up and lost the ball with his first touch so much - he just didn't quite seem 'at the races', but what do I know, he got MOTM!

Here's my take on our strikers, coz I cannot believe GR went one up front again:

Calv is our 20+ goals a season, he is a bully and will win 80% of all balls in the air, he is our front man.

Billy is our 15+ goals a season, he is our natural goalscorer and provided he gets himself fully fit and firing he needs to be starting.

Pato is our 10+ goals a season, without him up front we have no mobility. He keeps defenders on the 'back foot' as he runs the channels and gets in behind, we look far more dangerous with him on the pitch.

JR is our 5+ goals a season, great player in his day, and can still deliver for us, but imho from the bench.

I just don't get playing one up front when we've got a good bunch of strikers, Plymouth was simply awful and again, imho last night was just as poor. We have defence sorted and a battling midfield need to get our strikers on the pitch and contributing.
