Edinson Cavani's agent Claudio Annellucci confirm Liverpool are talking with the 25 year old striker.
''There's been alot of interest the past 6 months, and we just want to do whats best for him. Liverpool and Arsenal are the first clubs Cavani have agreed to open talks with.''
''It's no secret Edin (Cavani) want's to play in England, it is one of his biggest dreams.
Claudio on Cavani being linked with City and Chelsea:
''I know him personally and how he deals with the situation, succes and glory has nothing to do with the club he plays for. He plays football because that's what he loves to do. Big money and succes is no attraction for him'' - Cavani's agent Claudio Annellucci in a interview with El Telegrafo.

I don't think BR will have any problems as long as he keeps going the way he is. Of course if we fail to progress on last season, which I doubt, then he will have to have answers but certainly without a disaster of a season, he'll get another at least, that is certain.

Whilst our points tally is disappointing and indicates no signs of progress to the outsider, I do believe we are going in the right direction under Rodgers. Speed of the progress has been hampered by the lack of goals. I am sure this will be resolved in January and the team will kick on.
He has also brought through Sterling, Suso and Wisdom into the first team when it would have been easier to stick with the established players, i.e. Cole, Downing, Henderson, Adam, etc. This bravery will pay off handsomely in my opinion. Dalglish would not have brought the kids through as quick as Rodgers has.

*Sigh*
When the new owners came in, the general consensus amongst Liverpool fans was that we'd be happy as long as the debt was cleared and our revenue would go towards players.
That's happened so far. Kenny was backed to the hilt, and despite the consternation over him being sacked, when the new manager came in, nobody had any arguments over the fact that the only Kenny signing that commands a first team spot is Suarez (the fuss over Carroll's loan was due to depth issues in the main; when you see his stats it's hard to argue in favour of him being of first team quality). It's also widely accepted that the players Kenny signed had, relative to their cost, a tiny resale value.
Now, since we're all fairly agreed that a lot of the club's money was used to sign these players, and since we're also fairly agreed that a lot of it was utterly wasted, I find it hard to see how the people who rail against FSG seem to think there's some giant cash reserve that they're withholding from Rodgers. Remember, the general opinion seemed to be that we didn't want a sugar daddy; we just wanted owners who weren't draining the club.
Rodgers, who would have more reason than any other person In this universe to grumble if his hands were being unduly tied, makes no secret of the fact that we haven't much money because of the obscene transfer fees paid on players with no resale value, as well as the difficulty we have in shifting them even at slashed prices because of their cushy wages. He's referred on numerous occasions to the money that's tied up in players that he doesn't want and can't sell.
It borders on lunacy to now turn around and demand that FSG start funding moves for the cream of European players. That's not what we signed up for, I'm afraid; Kenny was handed a huge amount of cash, blew it, and now we have to adapt for a while whilst we sort our house out.
IMO, constantly pointing fingers at the owners is a cop-out. It's not as if Buck wasn't allowed to spend at all in the summer, and in my opinion part of the whole Dempsey saga was Buck trying to call the owners' bluff. I think he was given a budget, knew that getting Dempsey would mean overspending slightly, but tried it anyway. Can you criticise the owners for not sanctioning the extra funds? Yes, but IMO it's inconceivable that Buck didn't know he was playing a risky game, it's not all FSG's fault.
We got what we asked for, we're self sufficient. There's no point trying to turn every hiccup into a vendetta against the owners just because the money we generate was pí§sed up a wall. I see it over and over again, and this strange dichotomy where our fans go spare at FSG because we're strapped for cash whilst completely forgetting that we've flung truckloads of money around is getting tiresome and a bit embarrassing.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but there are, at most, two people largely responsible for the lack of funds at the club, and both of them quite rightly lost their jobs because of it. But it's easier to say that the suits are doing us over than say "Yeah, as much as I love Kenny, he may as well have driven four fifths of the money he spent off a cliff for all the good it's done us, now it's time to dig in and try to stay competitive whilst we build our finances up".
FSG must shake their heads in bewilderment when they hear our fans crying about the dross we've bought at huge expense in the past two years, whilst simultaneously saying they haven't backed us properly.

Kenny was convinced that Carroll was good in the long term and backed him to the hilt. He made his signings for the long term without realising that the owners had no patience.
He couldn't have been too convinced agger he didn't play him consistently for months after signing him and when he did start him he didn't play natural wide med to assist Andy, Kenny IMO did Andy no favors and curtailed his development in our team by not playing to his strengths, Andy didn't do himself any favors either till the last few months of the season when he seemed to gain a new confidence and attitude, this was, IMO due to Andy himself and had little to do with Kenny, I love the man and all but he was given money and a full season and we got progressively worse throughout the season, that's a fact, maybe he could have turned it around but at his age I can see why fsg choose a younger man who they feel can lead the club for years not just short term.

Yeah, I do agree Kenny did AC no favours, in fact Carrolls stock is at an all time low. I can't really see him getting his Mojo back unless he returns to Newcastle, and even then their game style has changed somewhat.
Kenny certainly was under a lot of pressure after the season finished and I still think the Suarez affair may have been the straw that broke the camals back.
