The point I am trying to make (considering I did mention the relative unimportance of pre-season friendlies) is that it gives the team a chance to get used to playing together with new members. Regardless of the class of opposition, its a run out for the new squad, and hopefully we can carry the new 'up and at 'em' spirit into the forthcoming season.

Good performance today although against lower division some cracking goals .if you were there today you will have come away happy with the team effort and seen some nice football.well put steel city

Yes, confused by 'third division' and, in my defence, after pub, LOL. I tend to ignore WUM's, but some of our fans wind me up, and I have a bad habit of responding on here to things I've read elsewhere.

Without getting carried away there were some positive signs in yesterday's game, but as usual some were watching a different game, but then, you could write their assessments of individual players before the game!
