Anderson da Silva

So, we've taken him on a two week trial. Great news if you ask me. Always liked him as a player who could turn a game on its head. Saved us on many occasions with some great performances and vital goals.

Some would argue that he could appear 'lazy' at times but there's no doubting the lad's got talent.

Unfortunately for us, he was one of the players who fell foul of Mark Robins' achilles heel; Robins was stubborn and made his mind up that he didn't like certain players and that was that (Colace, JCR...) so they all suffered performance-wise and left prematurely. I for one would love to see Anderson back, and would be interested to hear other fans' views...

Wow.

Never thought I would see him back, he was great for a period, but went stale, hope he gets back to his former self.

Might be something more permanent behind the deal tho bud...

As for the original thread, De Silva was a great player for us and I would hope that he could be again. Not exactly Hill's type of player unless his work ethic has changed. He could at times be fantastic, then others just an extra on the pitch. Still one of the most talented midfielders I've seen at Oakwell and would take a chance on him if I were Hill..

I'd have him back in an instant, technically superior to every one of our current players though will obviously be lacking in fitness.

We've also today signed Emile Sinclair on loan from Peterborough till 19th January, so it looks like the heffalumps Mido and Harewood won't be starting anytime soon and we may actually have a strike force capable of scoring a few goals. Whatever people say about our defence, we've only managed to score more than a solitary goal in ONE game this season. Hopefully that will change now we've a few Championship quality strikers, starting on Saturday against the sheep-botherers.

I have said many times that KH's main strength is getting the best out of players which was something that Davey couldn't do and Robins Struggled with.

I have also said that it would be interesting to see what Hill could have done with the squad that Robins had, so it will be interesting to see what happens here.

Andersen was one of the most gifted players I have ever seen at Oakwell and we only really got half a season of him at his best. I really hope this works out.

Was class when we had him before. Played in a misfield with JCR, Howard, Devaney and was by far the classiest player in there for me.

His performances always depended on his motivation as he undoubtedly had the ability. For example turning down £1m for him one season and being released by Robins the next.

And if Hillcroft know how to do anything it's getting the best out of players that don't always play to their potential. Vaz Te, Butterfield etc. Plus he's free so another good signing in my book.

I would love to see Da Silva back at Barnsley he could change a game with a single pass,we all know he could be a lazy so and so sometimes but as others have said 1 of the most gifted players we have seen at Oakwell for a few years, really hope this 1 comes off and with the other recent loan signings things are looking better each day, really need to get behind the team in the next 2 homes games and the players really to deliver at least 4 points for me.
