Looks much stronger on his right peg so why oh why play him on the left. Should have had Wallace playn left mid and Ortiz on the right. Far better balance

Agreed Angus re. Ortiz as he was lost when required to use his left foot and not as quick as I would expect.
Whittaker in defence can be dodgy too and Ally needs to tighten the back four fast.
Missed Lafferty up front,I am amazed to say,and could do with Miller back??
One game though,so do not panic Ally or Bears.

It's not the player's fault if his manager plays him out of position.
Rookie mistake and I'm sure Ally will learn from it.
Let's see if he is on a learning curve or just flat-lining.

the young Hearts player marking him had a cracking game to be fair.

Aye, there are very few defenders with the same pace to outrun him to every ball, in the SPL at least.
I expect him to come good yet, and played in his proper position he can only get better.

This playing players out of position nonsense is really getting to me now.
Why can't we play players in their favoured positions? What's so hard about that? I'm thinking in particular of Steve Davis. He is NOT a winger, don't play him there. He is by far an away our best CM and should be pulling the strings from the middle in every game.
Surely our strongest midfield is:
Wylde---Ness--Davis--Ortiz
Wide players crossing with their favoured feet and central mids who can pass more than 10 yards.
Maybe bring McCulloch or Edu in for a big European game but for the SPL that midfield should control most games.
