Friedel

May as well bring it up.

Last night Alan Nixon released a story about Brad possibly coming home. I'd dismissed it as normal Nicko bullocks but seems to have been confirmed by Cryer as being a potential move this morning.

Seems a bit of a weird one. Sure my heart would love Brad back and so would my head as he is still a top class keeper. But what would this mean to Robbo?

How long a deal would we offer? (I know it is a loan short term but say we were to move for him permanently in January), he is 42 now.

Would Brad want to come back. Seems happy at Spurs, is still in a fight for the number 1 shirt and will probably be on £50k or something, which will will not be able to match and since I believe one of the major reasons for him still playing at the moment is because he went pretty much bankrupt launching American 'soccer' academys, money will definitely be a factor.

I doubt this will come off in truth but i can see Henning taking a very close look at Robo,he has never been a keeper who cammands the box,a very much a line keeper i am not a masive fan of his,so if a short term contract will secure Brads sevices this season ,bring it on for me.If we do get promoted take another look then.

WOW seems to think youth is what its all about now. Why would he be wrong?

Waste of money that could be better spent on other areas. Even though he is still a class act we can't afford to have another high wage keeper on the books.
I'd have him back as a coach once he retires but either bring him in as a 2nd goalie or having Robbo as a 2nd goalie just isn't worth it.

WTF is going on at the circus now- the Mirror suggests Robinson will be allowed to leave on a free to be replaced by Friedel.

Somebody apply some logic please for the good of my sanity.

Media bullcrap. Putting 2 and 2 together to come up with back page filler.

I do hope so SKA- however the way things have been for last few years I am slightly susceptible to believing anything as far Rovers are concerned.

If we find the richest Rovers supporter in business and we all buy just his goods do you reckon he would buy Venky's out and we can all return to planet earth. A Jack Walker junior!

Time to start selling out Lee Mack gigs and buying Not Going Out on DVD, then.

Recognising that one or two points only could be absolutely vital in our quest for promotion this season, then for me it is no brainer to bring Friedal back if it is in anyway possible.

Anyone still watching PL football will know he has been his normal brilliant self this season for Spurs and the dedication, fitness and professionalism of the player guarantees a level of performance and quality that could be pivotal in our search for automatic promotion. Even at 40+ he remains better than what we currently have.

I like Robbo very much, his loyalty and committment shine through and he has been a good player for us. But he is not in Friedal's class and signing this player could be worth as many as a 5-10 point swing in our favour even with only half a season to perform.

For me, it all revolves around making the team better. Would Friedal be an improvement on Robbo? Undoubtedly, yes.
