I recall reading somewhere earlier that our dear president stated that GFH are backed by a seriously wealthy individual. Anyone else read this or is it me just dreaming?

There is a talksport interview with Ben Jacobs here from last July in which he says a member of the Barhaini Royal family, Mubarak Al-Khalifa, has been a Leeds fan since the 1970 fa cup final, and he tried to buy the club in 2003;

However it hasn't been confirmed yet whether he is involved with current takeover

Bin khalifa is the guy I believe worth 2.3 billion. His family's net worth is around 10 times that.

If the guy Ben Jacobs is talking about " Mubarak Al-Khalifa" is the same one who was going to buy the club before we were relegated out of the PL, he is also the guy who supposedly has massive gambling debts. Doesn't sound like someone flush with cash to buy LUFC. Does anyone know identity of the Arab who was at ER when supporters protested and Bates blamed the 'morons'm for

failed to buy the club in 2003, basically did the same thing then that is happening now, got a consortium of investors rather than use his own money http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/leeds_united/3304939.stm
suspect he will be reluctant to put his own money into club until he is certain we are secure in premier league

If it is Sir King, then it wouldn't be to good going public would it?..
If the Queen of England bought the Boston Pink Sox, what would the everyday person in Britain think?..
I'd think there'd be a hell of a lot wanting to know why she didn't buy closer to home!..
