Dwight Yorke

I've just seen our 'Yorkie' on SSN.

He certainly must be the exception to the belief that footballers ( or ex footballers ) are not the "brightest lights on the christmas tree" , isn't he?

He's so well-spoken , eloquent , intelligent and rather charismatic ... not to mention well-informed on all things football and in particular Man United.

Everytime I see him on the telly he always comes across as being very professional and serious - you can't say the same about most of the football pundits/commentators in this country , can ya?

It's so painful watching Redknapp struggle with grammar , Shearer seems to always be in argument with the english language and as for Hansen , well ... the less said the better

We love you , 'Yorkie'

There's also a pretty good article on Lindegaard's comments on football needing a gay hero. Nice to see one of our players with a bit of intelligence.

How does saying that make him intelligent?

Patriarch

Probably because most of the $hit gay people get in society comes from poorly educated thick idiots who have a problem that has nothing to do with them. What Lindegaard is saying is quite refreshing to hear from a footballer.

I gave my sister your picture and she is now gay too

Ha!

No, it's just nice to hear a footballer come out and say stuff like that. Just look at Justin Fashanu and the $hit he had to go through and what he ended up doing. No one deserves that. Sadly after seeing what happened on the weekend (West Ham and Sunderland fans) looks like there's still plenty of idiots around.

Yep. I love football as much as the next guy but when I hear about the chants from the weekend on top of all the other stuff I just despair and wonder if a lot of these people deserve a football team to 'support'.

I might leave football and go support something a little less skum-filled like dog fighting or bare knuckle fighting.

Yeah but you'll come back to it a few days later and say you were just taking a back seat

I've always thought this about Yorkie. Top lad!

Anders is only reflective of the Nordic liberal attitude towards most things.

Denmark was one of the first countries to approve of gay partnerships - in the 80s!! Along with their neighbours like Iceland, Sweden etc

They put us too shame in being a progressive nation.
